South Oldham Football has a few seniors who are moving on to the next level and playing football next year. Most of these players are getting academic money. A couple of players turned down a chance to go and play inorder to concentrate on academics. These young men helped get South Oldham back on track and competitive every Friday night. QB-Caleb Newton 6'3.5 205 lbs: walking on at U of L. Wonderful upside to this kid. Big, great arm strength, strong (in the weightroom), improved as a runner, and a GREAT STUDENT. He was the Offensive MVP at the Louisville Coaches all star game (alot of talent on the field in that game) LB/DL: Taylor Scherer 6'1.5 220: Playing at Wittenberg (spurned many offers from 1aa,D2, and D3) to play DL. He was third team all state as a LB (eventhough he had never played there prior to this year). Great natural ability, hardworker, positive role model, and great student. He will fit in well at the winningest D3 program in history. By the way you know he is tough we was a 3 time state wrestling champ. OLB/SS: Cody Williams 6'2 210: signed with Georgetown College. Great all round talent. He played 3 different positions on offense and 3 different positions on defense. He also punted. He is a big hitter with great hands. He is also a great student. RB: Matthias Gordon 5'9 210: going to Kentucky State: Had a great season despite playing with an injury all year. Big strong kid who will run over you or by you. He loves to hit. He also has great hands. Could be very good at lead blocking or running inside zone (rare combo). DB: Rahmond Booth 5'10 180: going to Kentucky Wesylan: Had 3 interceptions in one game vs. Oldham Co. Made many big plays last year. He will hit you also. OL/DL/LS: Wes Finch 6'2 260: grey shirt at Georgetown. Will go to Georgetown on music scholarship with intent of playing afer one year (his plans right now).

The KHSAA ruled in favor of South Oldham by a vote of 12-5 to get back four of their wins that were ruled as a forfeit halfway through last season. This change will occur soon and the scores will be listed as 30-0 over Waggner, 50-0 over Oldham County, 56-0 over North Oldham, and 28-0 over Nelson County.
