  2. I dont think all 3 are D 1 players, but they are pretty good. I would think the 2 teams would play a close game and because of their experience I would hafta pick South Laurel to execute down the stretch.
I think all three COULD play DI at different levels, but the key word in this is oppertunity. I'm not sure the offers are there and don't think Hammonds or Smith will get the oppertunity maybe one but not both, although both are good I just don't see it. I hope they do get this oppertunity though.
  3. I'd say give Shelby Valley and Elliott a year or two and they'll be competing with about anyone. As far as JBS i'm sure they'll win the 14th a time or two in the next few years but they need to change their coaching philosphy, Stepp is not a good enough player to win a state title by himself. They need to use some of the other players on the team that has more talent and play more team oriented basketball and they may be more competitive.

  4. In my opinion, I said this last weekend while sitting behind him at Rupp Arena, Tim Riley is the best darn coach the state has to offer. He teaches defense and team ball. I've never seen a Warren Central Riley team have a ballhog or a bad defender. They always hustle and all seem to have their heads on straight. Not to mention he must have hired one heck of a weight trainer because his boys get big over 4 years. Love the work ethic they have.

If I was to start a school in KY he would be my first choice, with Dave Fuast, Mike Code, and up and coming coach Brad Carr of Scott as my assistants. Wishful thinking right?

Who is the coach at Covington-Holy Cross now?? I remember a few years ago maybe 4-5 years to be exact they were really disciplined and well coached both offensively and defensively, they had a really good coach at that time. Just wondering if he is still there. I can't remember his name though.
  5. A question?

Garison Collins 6'9 freshman, will he play DI basketball. He has some potential and could be 7-1 before he graduates. When I was in school I grew from 5'8 as a freshman to 6'1 as a sophomore, 6'3 as a Junior and 6'5 when I graduated, which I never grew anymore after I graduated. I grew 9 inches in 4 years in HS. that is pretty freaky but could you imagime if a kid who is already 6'9 grew 9 more inches from now untill the time he graduates?? Maybe it won't happen, but it's something to think about....but I don't know he would be 7'6' if you looked at it like that......lol

  6. They will be the favorite if they get everyone back. But I heard that 2 of there starters were transferring. Anybody else hear this?

Heard that the best player on the team my be transferring to Shelby Valley...no names, figure it out...I also heard that one may be at Knott or Letcher Central forgot which one of the two but yeah I've heard this.

  7. Tim Riley is the best coach in the state of kentucky W/out a doubt. Year in and year out his team is in the running for a state title. Even the year they won it , no one expected them to do much of anything and the year they were in the finals against South Laurel people expected even less...But with this being said Riley gets my vote.

  8. I really don't understand Walls being called one of the "top 2". He can play and I like his game but he's not nearly as impressive as Pettigrew, Knowles, or even Hill at that. He isn't even the top player on his own team, that being Mackey. I guess at Scott Co. he gets more exposure than these other guys.

  9. I'm going to sort them into groups.

(All could have competed for a state title this yr.)

    2.Ballard

    3.Holmes

    4.Warren Central

    5.South Laurel

    8.Christian Co.

    10.Elliott County

    11.Paducah Tilgman

    12.Shelby Valley

(descent teams whos a couple players away from being good)

    13.Owensboro
