Yes Devine did play but did not look well out there was mostly jogging up and down the floor.Could not make any cuts to basket and by end of game was not taking a seat on the bench during timeouts knee was just to tight.Hopefully with a litle rest and ice she can get back to normal.
Well what is wrong with her knee? Did she hurt it yesterday?:idunno:

If my parents acted the way some of these parents act today, I would ask them not to come see me play because it is embarassing. I don't even like to watch a high school anymore because of all the ignorance you hear in the stands. To sit and scream at another human being is what makes some people go home and sleep better I guess?:idunno:
You are right. I would say 95% of parents and fans are ignorant of the rules. However they think they know it all and insist on acting like fools. They make me sick:puke:

I was at the game and the officiating wasn't the best but to their credit there were about 6 people between the 2 fan sections who were on the referees the whole game and they didn't seem to let it bother them. There were less than 100 people in the entire gym so the referees had to hear everything that was directed their way.
I am sure they heard the nonsense coming from idiot parents. That is the problem with sports today the kids usually have sportsmanship but not the parents. We need to break the game tape down and let these parents watch. Or each parent should have to take the officials exam before their kids can play. Ha HA Ha HA. Just kidding. Trust me most of these kids would rather their parents not come to the game as to hear them acting like fools in the stands.
-
Congrats to the Wildcats. Coach Roberts needed another big win to keep the confidence up in her young team. With such a young team it is easy to break them down and have them look ahead to next year.
Anyone have Gallatin's record. They have a few in a row.

Games played at Conley Sports Center. Pretty good size venue for a tournament like this.
Can you give me directions from NKY, would like to attend but I have no clue where this place is.

Nick transferred from Holy Cross prior to his Jr season. His whole family attended SK, his brother Tony played for the '81 state champs, his sister Shannon was a very good hoops player in the late '90s and his other brother David was a very good wrestler for SK. He ended up being a starter for th '95 team and made the game winning layup, with 2 seconds remainig in the regional title game against CovCath. Nick passed away in '98 on the way back from the Gorge, he was a passenger in a car crash on I-64. Last night they had a projection screen on the floor and they played the last 9 seconds of that game, then they presented Nick's jersey to his family. It brought a tear to my eye, he was a very good young man. I have a friend who's brother graduated with Nick, and after his passing they planted a tree in their front yard. Hard to believe that tree is 11 years old, time really flies.
Sounds like a great story. Best of luck and God Bless this family, hope this story is told over and over, to basketball generations and generations.:thumb:

The criteria is the smallest 125 schools but if a school declines it goes right down the line to the next smallest. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
Are you telling me that Henry declined the bid for Class A.
-
I'm pretty sure you are correct. But, I noticed in the participating schools that Cornerstone Christian is listed for the 8th. Are they playing in the tournament? I don't remember seeing them in the brackets.
Here is the link.

No they are not playing, they declined to join and follow or adopt all the criteria of the KHSAA and NFHS, Someone correct me if I am wrong.

:notworthy: Congrats to Tori, and the Lady Demons. Best of luck and I hope she stays healthy.
-
Congrats to Henry on a big win. Just imagine how much fun these girls are having this year. They are winning big games and playing for a coach that demands hard work and FUN.
-
Henry is not in the Class A tournment.
I thought they got back in due to the smallest 125 schools classified as Class A schools. They were in it last year. What is the criteria for Class A schools now?
-
It was their second district win. HC beat Carroll earlier this week.
you are right, I apoligize. Then this makes this win even bigger for a first year coach. Congrats for getting back to back district wins.:ohbrother:
-
Wow, this year the 31st is going to be wide open. Congrats to Henry County and their new coach on their first district win. Dont count Owen out they will ready to make a statement to other teams in the 31st, and get some revenge on Henry Co. This should make the Class A very interesting as well. Henry County showing that they can get a win against a very good Owen County team cannot be taken lightly.
-
I kind a like traveling for districts. It is such a distraction for the coach and players to have to organize everything. Plus I think there is more pressure on the home team. What is interesting is' date=' Owen beat Carroll on the road, Gallatin beat Owen on the road, Henry beat Gallatin on the road and Carroll beat Henry on the road. So far teams aren't fairing well at home. I'm just saying.[/quote']
Well I never thought of it like that, but that is a very interesting point.
-
Where is the tournament played at?
-
Hands down Gallatin. Class "A" state runner-up. Nobody even comes close.
That was in 1999, so I am not sure if that win counts as being in this decade. But you are right. if I remember correctly they had the chance to win that game as well.
-
Seems like year in and year out Gallatin is, if not the best, one of the best class A teams in the 8th. Half of the time they are one of the best teams in the whole 8th region. I may be wrong. What program do you think has been the most successful and why?
Gallatin has to be the best Class A program in the 8th the last 10 years. They have won the Class A 3 times this decade, and have won more district titles than any other Class A teams in the 8th the last 10 years. Gallatin has to be considered the best. IMO.
-
It is at Gallatin.
may a good year for the districts to be at Gallatin, at least for Gallatin's sake.
-
This score is a bit of a shocker.
well one would expect the much larger school to win, however W-town can play. They alot of experience at the varsity level. Would be interesting to know how many varsity starts the girls from W-town have under their belts. I know they have been starting the 3 to 4 years.
-
Hard to make predictions in the 31st District. :idunno:
you are right about that one. THis district is up for grabs. Think any team can win it. Which makes for an interesting tourny. Where is the 31st held this year?
-
Davis 18 Hill 16 Morris 11. I think don't qoute me though! And a unbelievable job at point guard for Dossett. Remember that girl is only a 8th grader! :scared: :jump: :jump: :jump:
sounds like everyone chipped in this game. Dossett is very mature for her age. Congrats to the big 3 for Gallatin, if they continue to play like this, the return of Jones should bring good things for the wildcats.:dancingpa

Got any stats for Gallatin?
-
Gallatin has two injuries, I give the edge to Owen tomorrow night. Owen by 6.
-
Carroll has a big game tomorrow against a much improved Henry' date=' they better not be looking ahead to Saturday[/quote']
you are right. Henry is strong. THey have improved alot since last season.Carroll is the better team so I look for them to win that one. But Carroll and Gallatin should be a good game, maybe the edge goes to Gallatin at Home. Any thoughts?
Refs call a bad game again!

Well in your defense I was not at the game you are referring to, so I am not sure how the game was called. I attend just about every game from my school, and we all know the parents who create trouble and stand up; yell, swear, embarrass there kids and act like fools. These are the ones who have no clue about the game. They just want their kids to do great and feel they can do no wrong. I just want to say I wish our parents would act like adults during the game and set good examples for our student athelets.
