  1. I want to let it be known that I hope the best for Elliott County except when they are playing against the Cougars. They are in the 62nd district and I for one would be supportive of this district before any of the others. Elliott County has a special group of athletes at the present but this may not allows be the case. Remember all the teams you disgrace and destroy on your way up the list are the same teams you will meet on your way down.

  2. I know Coach Perry personally, as we have been friends for some time, and he said none of the above but why should I defend him. He is trying to prepare the Cougars to have a better season than last year. He believes his team is better offensively this year than last. At least this season, they have players who are giving their all instead of just going through the motions. Could that be why he feels more confident than last season. If anyone understands the talent at Elliott County it would be Coach Perry. His teams' were handled easily by the Lions last season and they return everyone. Elliott County is by far the most talented team in the region but they are not invincible. As for what Coach Perry supposedly said he was quoted as saying that this would be a game in which the Cougars would have to play almost perfect to win. I take it as though he respects the Lions and is preparing his team with these intentions. As for Elliott County being a first half team and the Cougars having their number, that information is totally false. The rumors are flying early in the season and the season is yet to start for most teams. Good luck to both teams as I mentioned in an earlier post and may the best team win.

  3. My statement was directed towards RA09, who seems to be making up false information to elicit some type of negative response. I for one believe all the coaches in the 16th Region have nothing but respect and admiration for the athletes at Elliott County. They play the game with heart and desire which isn't always the case in high school athletics. Good luck to both teams and may the best team win.

  4. I see what your saying and you are probley right.the 80s and early 90s would beat most teams from the state.

Not just in the 80's and 90's but also from 00-04. Theres alot of teams in those years who would dominate the region today and could possible get deep into the state tourny IMO because the state is so week.

  5. It hurts to read that. But, it was a "Rare Night", because they had a lot of good looks.

If you call Maynard shooting 27 footers time after time down the floor good looks then a good look needs to be redefined because last I checked that is a very low percentage shot.

Congrats to Coach Johnson and the rams they played alot harder than elliot last night and got 7 footers rather than 27 footers and that was the difference in the ball game.
