Tell us what you know fever.........Colonels not Red Storm

Ok Guys let's don't be too hard on the good coach Gentry.......I know some of you guys were giving me down the road....Hey.....I can take it, but the truth is the good ole coach Gentry is not Whitley material anyway.Whitley hired a very good coach today in Jim Black and he will do just fine. Good kids , staff and he will trat the kids with respect.

The whole thing has been crazy .................don't you think Les.

Hiring committee................The people on that committee don't know what a football looks like . That so called committee was put together for one purpose and that was to hire good ole Gentry. Everybody knew that this guy was leaving weeks ago. He told Lonnie he was staying. He told the kids, radio and the newspapers that he was staying. Georgia will get them a real peach. A rotton one.

Well, where should I start. I quit posting several months ago because I felt like I was making so many members mad. I could say that I told you so, but I won't go there.Whitley (Lonnie) was badly misled on this guy. I could really go into details, but then you guys would probably tell me that there is no way this is true, just like you told me about the good coach Gentry.This guy is all about himself and doesn't care who gets in his way. I would hate to think that I could lie to a bunch of young men. Jim Black will do just fine and Mike Campbell will support him 100%.This whole thing has been a joke, but the sad thing is the joke has been on the kids.If you guys need another bottle of ketchup with that crow , let me know

One more thing.............I am sorry VolFan that you got a divorce Look at it this way..........Behind the Guru this has been the #1 looked at post.I just wish that Thunderstruck and Mexican Bob would have stayed around for all the thunder. As far as jabs at the new coach...............these are facts whether you believe or not would be up to you.As far as bringing down the old coach (things happen) in the coaching profession. I have stated time and time again that murdock knows the game of football.You guys make statements on here just as I have . This is a opinionated forum that is the purpose for the thread and this web-site. .Nothing has been stated that has been out of line.From what I have heard # are up and things look good. Esidro told me that nobody actually changed the name of to the red storm it had always been the colonels, but redstorm was used .Good luck to you all and the new coach,,,,,,,,,,,,,but beware of the storm

4chs...the reason that coach adams won't be on the sideline next year is that he was told that he wouldn't be a position coach. Adams was very respected at Corbin and at Whitley he decided that he would give it up. Truth..........I know most of the staff (I think ) at WCHS. Remember it's not the Red Storm (the weather system as Apex called it) Colonels have always been the official name at Whitley.Truth the truth hurts sometimes as for Campbell getting released or whatever that is far gone(I could care less) but I can tell this for a fact that he was undermining the man long before the season started and after it began. The reason I know this for a fact is because he made some of these remarks (shrewd statements to myself).I wish the Red Storm excuse me Colonels well.I think that Murdock knows football and with the talent that he has walked into , I think that the Colonels will fly hi............I am a serious fan ,I just don't appreciate the way that he went about it and i would think that some of the assistant coaches wouldn't appreciate it as well.

A weather system or not Apex, those kids respected there tradition and loved the red storm identity. They will always be colonels. I think the whole thing just took off. No one ask the newspapers, radio or anyone else to actually refer to the team as the "red storm". As for the kids being separated , I think not...........whitley had 12 kids play bball last year and around 16 to play baseball.....these are the ones that were also on the football team.As far as belittling the staff (I think not) From what I have heard the new coach was belittling the old staff and Campbell for the last two years.

From what I have heard you are right Volfan782000.....The way that I understand it .Whitley has always been the Colonels and the red storm was another nickname, such as Lynn Camp are the Wildcats, but they use the nickname hitmen in some of there advertising (such as tshirts)

1. kids will quit the team 2.grades 3.committment 4.anytime that you get a new coach you will get the ones that have tried to play under the old coach and will try again.......... 5.whitley is a growing school district and numbers should be better... 6. Sounds like the way that you are talking truth it sounds like that Campbell didn't want anybody to play ............ 7. I know better 8. small schools go in cycles and whitleys is on the rise.

Well................If you would have read the post . It states that Whitley had 47 coming back on the roster and that this included the 8th grade at 20. Do the math...............Whitley has a lot of talent on the rise .........................

Well.............from what I have heard they have 67 in the weight room....Somebody said that off of last years roster there was 47 returning. That is aslo with the 8th grade.

Shelby was close...........9 points at the end..................Whitley was behind by 14 and took the lead before half only to loose in the end........

The coach was Huddleston..............I think
