I'm having a hard time recalling a basketball ball coach being fired. Tom Russell?

That administration does not fire coaches at Highlands. Please rid any thought of Kevin Listerman or any head coach there being on the hot seat.

I just thought they had some decent kids and they would be able to beat most of the teams they have lost too so far. They do have a lot of younger talent if they choose to keep playing. The 8th grade class is exceptional. Vinson, Hergott, Buten, Barth are all going to be really good.

Middle school teams are usually pretty good at Highlands. We know not to put much stock in that. Right?

They've been ranked as high as number 1 in preseason polls, but fell short. A lot can happen during season. I'm not sure when Highlands has emerged from the 9th, but I think it's been a long time.

Again, I have zero problem with running the score up. The only time I would be bothered by it is when it happens to my team just like anyone would. It's just an ego thing is all.

 

If a team can score 200 points, so be it.

I agree. Referencing an earlier post. I would have a bigger issue with the varsity squad coming out of half-time in jeans and sweat shirts

In bball forum i always wondered how the Highlands football threads would go when the program struggled. Not exactly what I expected. Funny everyone is still hung up on the running up the score thing from long ago.

The Birds had really good basketball teams in the 90's with football players who lifted everyday for football, who started basketball late due to state championship in football. All those excuses don't work. Plain and simple they are not good at basketball. No big deal it happens.

Those guys were special athletes that don't come along very often.

So you just dump the seniors who have given it their all for the last couple of years?

Well they you live in a fantasy world. Teams gets blown out. I guess CC SHOULD be applauded that they chose to win by 60 vs 100. Maybe Catholic Schools shouldn't recruit...but they do. Maybe High School kids should worry more about how their losses affect their parents more than themselves. Maybe HHS should put the freshman in vs CC Football so that CC can win one once in a while? Should and reality don't mix. Listermann is coaching the kids that come out to play. That's what he gets....If you think you would do a great job at recruiting middle schoolers to play only basketball, I think you SHOULD! Maybe you SHOULD tell the name of your "in the know" source! C'mon....It's High School! Jordan was cut by his HS coach. LeBron played football. They shouldn't have lost by 60...but they did. So what...Next game. Golden State lost by 32 last night...that SHOULDN'T have happened! I guess Steve Kerr should be fired and Curry traded?

I played back in the day. I don't remember anyone blowing us out. Especially by 60

If there are sophomores that are good, they should have been playing.

They have solid basketball only kids in the middle school now. Let's hope they stat at Highlands. They let the 9th Region POY walk 4 yrs ago.

The basketball ball guys need to be identified and developed. When my kids where there. The middle school teams were always good. But a huge majority were football players. By the time they got to high school, the non footballers sick of being overlooked moved on. So, sacrifice some success at the middle school level to DEVELOP talent for high school.

Wow! That's got to have some folks wondering whether they have the right man coaching.

Until they find a guy that dismisses the football players. Early. They won't have the right guy
