I am sure the doctor will not let him return until he is completly healed. My son broke his fibula last year at the end of September and with healing and therapy was not cleared until the end of January. Four week seems very hard to believe. -
You are exactly right. You lose a great back in the first series and it hurts. I put the glasses on the kid sitting on the bench and my heart went out for him, I told my son he might have a major propblem. He plays and the Birds win easy.
, If he doesn't get hurt, Birds win.

I honestly I think the loss of Josh will fire this team up. They will win this one for Josh, Birds by 28. Josh , We will miss you, get well soonI say the Birds win by at least 4 scores...They won't be to happy with what happened down in Louisville last night...The Raiders will feel the brunt of the Birds frustration..:madman::madman: -
Appreciate your concern about this young man. Great kid and was looking forward to watching him against the cards I m sure he will get over this and help his Birds bring home #18I am very sad to hear this news. I was really looking forward to seeing this young man play against my Cards. Most important though, is his health long-term. Best wishes to Conner and here's hoping he makes it back in time to help the Birds bring yet ANOTHER state title home to Ft. Thomas.

Talked to Josh today,he is a little bit down but is excited about getting ready for a run at #18. He will be ready in about 4 or 5 wks.Four weeks will be just in time for CovCath week. Maybe this is all a clever ruse.Whenever he gets back, I hope it's when he's fully healed and ready to go. :thumb:

Josh Conner does not live in Newport. He lives in FT.ThomasNot really. We occasionally get several players outside of Ft. Thomas (even some disgruntled CovCath players every now and then:D), but if you want to compare the number of players you've received from outside a seven square mile area surrounding CovCath with the number of players that we've received from outside of Ft. Thomas over the last 20 years, I'll start making my list. The only two that I can think of this year are Conner and Ted Abner. Conner as you pointed out lives in Newport and Abner lives in Kenton County. Teddy's father is a Highlands grad. The place of Abner's residence is a testament to whom wears the pants in that family (sorry Ted. I didn't want to type that but my fingers wouldn't listen to me. Besides, if I didn't type it, Jim or Mick would have anyway. :D)

What happened to Brewer. I heard he was back and now gone againB.Housley, N.Ilg, J.Ilg, G.Pangallo, these are the one's I hear have transfered. -
Where did Housley go this time Didn't he leave and go to HC beforeYour right Eagle therr is a lot of talented athletes at Newport that only play one sport and could contribute in others. There are also kids that don't play at all when they enter high school and have participated is sports all there life. The Ilg brothers will hurt Newport more because they were both a big part of the wrestling team, Housley was a contributer to the basketball team and when kids like that leave it hurts. -
I don't think we will get the coverage we did in the postThanks  I used to always look forward to the KY Post preview but no more. -
It will be out on the 18thIm unaware of any type of listing but the Enquirer Preview should be out in the next week or so.Anybody have any definite dates on that?

Kent is a Newport kid and will do a great with the girls but i don't coaching is the real problem. To me , the problem is decipline. The girls do not seem to want to accept the rules from the coaching staff, therefore the coach will jump ship

Don't count out Josh Conner of Highlands. He is capable of putting up big numbers.I'm not saying any of these mountain kids will win this thing, but the numbers Greer, Bowling, and Lewis will put up tey will be in the conversation. -
No way did the ball hit the batters helment. Watch the batter, no reaction by him that the ball hit him. After review, I think the catcher is 100% innocent. It appears to me that the ball hits the batter's helmet and the catcher is ducking out of the way because there's no way of knowing where the ball is going to go. -
HHS battled back form being down 5-1 to win district. Great win for the lady birds.
-
Yes, this was the last reg. season game. District starts Mon. I think at NKU.Excuse my ignorance on soft ball, but was this the game that ended the season or is Highlands still in it? -
I agree. The girl can flat out make shots.I think Allison Long will give everyone a run for their money for POY. She is very smooth and can score at will. I would like to see all these fine athletes mentioned play a little more "in your face" DEFENSE!I will say it is a three horse race w/Jackson, Long and Bradley as they are Sr's to be. Sandfoss and Allen will have to wait a yr to battle it out.
-
Yes it was. Allen pitched another great game. I think the Birds only managed 2 hits. The only run was a solo homer in the 2nd by the,( I think the #5 hitter) of Ryle. Great defense by both teams.I take it this is softball. How about some details. -
HHS played well against a very good Ryle team.
-
Sorry, I was thinking of another girlWhy did she not start on that team? -

If the Alford boy is healthy, look out 5A, One or the best I've seen in a while, The kid will flat out hit you.
-
I saw Alford WEd. at school. I think he had shoulder surgery.Names I heard were Alford and Brown, not sure if it is true or not. -
I met Mr. Montano a couple of years ago. He is a wonderful person. I am so very sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you and your family.

JC did play lb as a freshman & it looks like he will play safety this year. You are right, neither Collinsworth nor Conner will be playing linebacker (inside or outside) this year, nor did they play that position last year.
