  1. You lose a great back in the first series and it hurts. I put the glasses on the kid sitting on the bench and my heart went out for him, I told my son he might have a major propblem.

He plays and the Birds win easy.

    You are exactly right.

, If he doesn't get hurt, Birds win.

  2. I say the Birds win by at least 4 scores...They won't be to happy with what happened down in Louisville last night...The Raiders will feel the brunt of the Birds frustration..:madman::madman:
I honestly I think the loss of Josh will fire this team up. They will win this one for Josh, Birds by 28. Josh , We will miss you, get well soon
  3. I am very sad to hear this news. I was really looking forward to seeing this young man play against my Cards.

Most important though, is his health long-term. Best wishes to Conner and here's hoping he makes it back in time to help the Birds bring yet ANOTHER state title home to Ft. Thomas.

Appreciate your concern about this young man. Great kid and was looking forward to watching him against the cards I m sure he will get over this and help his Birds bring home #18
  4. Not really. We occasionally get several players outside of Ft. Thomas (even some disgruntled CovCath players every now and then:D), but if you want to compare the number of players you've received from outside a seven square mile area surrounding CovCath with the number of players that we've received from outside of Ft. Thomas over the last 20 years, I'll start making my list.:D

The only two that I can think of this year are Conner and Ted Abner. Conner as you pointed out lives in Newport and Abner lives in Kenton County. Teddy's father is a Highlands grad. The place of Abner's residence is a testament to whom wears the pants in that family (sorry Ted. I didn't want to type that but my fingers wouldn't listen to me. Besides, if I didn't type it, Jim or Mick would have anyway. :D:D)

Josh Conner does not live in Newport. He lives in FT.Thomas
  5. Your right Eagle therr is a lot of talented athletes at Newport that only play one sport and could contribute in others. There are also kids that don't play at all when they enter high school and have participated is sports all there life. The Ilg brothers will hurt Newport more because they were both a big part of the wrestling team, Housley was a contributer to the basketball team and when kids like that leave it hurts.
Where did Housley go this time Didn't he leave and go to HC before
  6. After review, I think the catcher is 100% innocent. It appears to me that the ball hits the batter's helmet and the catcher is ducking out of the way because there's no way of knowing where the ball is going to go.
No way did the ball hit the batters helment. Watch the batter, no reaction by him that the ball hit him.
  7. I think Allison Long will give everyone a run for their money for POY. She is very smooth and can score at will. I would like to see all these fine athletes mentioned play a little more "in your face" DEFENSE!

I will say it is a three horse race w/Jackson, Long and Bradley as they are Sr's to be. Sandfoss and Allen will have to wait a yr to battle it out.

I agree. The girl can flat out make shots.
  8. I take it this is softball. How about some details.
Yes it was. Allen pitched another great game. I think the Birds only managed 2 hits. The only run was a solo homer in the 2nd by the,( I think the #5 hitter) of Ryle. Great defense by both teams.

Why did she not start on that team?
