What KHSAA has basically done is they have taken every competitive part of June away from football. When football lost competitive 7 on 7 in June a few years ago, teams could still have their own practices and 7 on 7s within their team. They could install their passing game and have competitive drills.

Now since you can't have helmets, no football coach in their right mind will do any of those competitive type of things. So now they are stuck with doing everything "on air"; meaning they'll do it without a full-speed defense.

Need to get rid of Fall Break! That would help the calendar.

St X is looking for a new OC. This is especially disturbing since last years coordinator has a son who is supposed to be a freshman in the fall at X.

Has anyone heard of any prospects?

Is this young man still going to St X?

Short of some kind of smoking gun coming out as happened with the Reggie Bush scenario, I don't see the NCAA stripping a national title.

 

Personally, I don't really care if the athletes at UNC or wherever else took sham classes. If they could get into a great academic school like UNC and didn't want to take advantage of it, then that's on them. No one really benefits when an athlete takes a class, doesn't want to be there, and is disruptive for everyone else (not saying all athletes are like that, but if you went to a huge D1 school, you probably know exactly what I'm talking about).

 

I'm going to guess that this same type of thing happens at almost any major college. I'm just surprised that others are surprised.

Did you seriously just say all this? You are half right about one thing "No one really benefits when an athlete takes a class" because the athletes surely didn't benefit. Colleges have accrediations and this abuse puts that in jeopardy. Time to stop lowering our standards to kids who can put a ball through a hoop.

This could go many different directions. Central's early tough schedule could help them in this. Bell County is very physical. Turnovers and big plays may be the difference in this one. If Bell limits the big play, they will go to the bee hive and get the win. Bell 21-14

Pretty sure it is a team camp where there is no contact with other teams. EKU has a similar camp these two weeks.

I don't know much about the team as a whole, but I'm pretty sure they will be starting a Junior at Quarterback, Sammy Carter. I watched Sammy growing up and in Middle School. I also watched him play last year against Tates Creek's JV, he was impressive. A fast kid with a good arm.

They have 1 and 2 on Fridays because of the small crowds they typically bring. It helps with WKU classes and parking. Others they rotate in some fashion.

I agree. I take nothing away from Owe n's undefeated season, that is tough to do at most levels. But they haven't beaten any contenders this year either.

With most schools I agree but Highlands is a Bird of a different color.
