  1. I see where one of these guys is a NKY resident.

While I do not agree with what these two did, I think that when you are in public office you lose at least some of the hate crime protections. But it will also bring the secret service to your front door as well, as they have to investigate any and all threats, so that latter would make it not a very good idea to do, in both the Obama and Palin cases.

In the Palin case it was on private property, so I don't see how anything besides an investigation by the secret service would happen. But in the Obama case, it was at a state run university, not sure about the charges, but I do think that UK has the right to punish Fischer up to and including expulsion since it was on UK property.

If I'm President Todd, Fischer has already been expelled. Anyone who tries to defend this by saying it was political in nature or no different than the Palin incident is blind. Yes, both were despicable. However, a noose is a blatantly racial symbol due to its disgusting history.

One thing President Todd has really been preaching the past few years is campus diversity. He has made great strides in various forms. However, if he lets an incident like this go without Fischer being punished, he has no credibility in trying to create campus diversity.

  2. I don't think it is just a Hartline problem, it is the WRs not running good routes, and the O-line being inconsistent with their blocking.

Not running good routes comes from inexperience...there were at least 5 true freshman getting serious PT at WR. You can't have that and expect to win. However, floating EVERY ball you throw is something that should have been fixed at this point in the season. I've defended Hartline for most of the season but here's the bottom line: Cobb moves the offense better. Floating balls in the SEC gets you picked every game.

  3.

If UK is "legit," Louisville is most certainly legit. It's amazing to me what a couple 7-win seasons can do to over-inflate a fan bases ego.

Hey, I'm as realistic of a UK fan as you're gonna find. Just returning the pot shots that you so frequently dole out.

  4. Just a heads up for all of you going to the game like me, stay in your seat at halftime because the NSU marching band is one of the nations best.

Then they'll look even better when they're compared to UK's band...which is pitiful.

  5. Great News!!

Picked UK over offers from Louisville, Arkansas, and Indiana.

This also has to help with Patterson, which can't hurt.

Is this referring to Jamaal Patterson, the WR? If so, I thought he already committed to Stanford.

Anyone know any updates on Brown, the 4* WR from Delaware?

  6. Not remembering driving home is a good clue. And even if he hadn't had a drink for a month, if he was that tired, his reflexes and judgement of speed and distance would have been severely diminished. I stand by my statement. I'm glad my family wasn't on the road when they were.

  7. This schedule, albeit unintentionally, is set up very nicely for Hartline. He managed this game, didn't make any big mistakes and got the W. The next 3 weeks, if I'm Joker, I let him air it out a bit and get comfortable throwing some downfield passes. The young WRs are good. I believe Roark, McCaskill, Cobb (stud), and Lanxter all had catches today. The next 3 games give them some great chances to get very comfortable with the offense before rolling into the vicious SEC.

The O-Line must improve so the Cats can utilize the plethora of RBs.

  8. 1) Congrats to Luke and his family. For him to have the chance to play college ball is awesome and UK is a good program to join.

    2) It is very possible for a player like Farris to switch to being a second baseman. All it would take is a little practice on his footwork and he will be fine. Corey is a natural baseball player and would easily be able to make the switch with the tools that he has. Many players have done it before and many will continue to do so. One example that pops in mind (other than JJ) is Billy Mottram, second baseman for the Freedom. He was a corner infield guy that never played up the middle and a few games into the season made the switch to 2nd. Yes he had to practice his footwork but I think he's doing alright now. Atleast good enough to be an all-star at his new position. :sssh:

Farris has the best chance to play early in the OF at UK in my opinion. With the loss of Cowgill and Farrell and Wiley being a senior, there will be playing time available. Off the top of my head, Neiko Johnson is probably slotted as the starter at 2B for the Cats this year.

  9. GT, you may have some insight on this question I've been wondering about: Why is there such a difference in the way that Scout and Rivals rank Newton? It's not too uncommon for the two services to maybe rank a player one star different than the other. But Newton is a 5 star with Rivals and 3 star with Scout...what gives?
