  1. Coming from a guy who got fired at NDA and wants to give no credit to the new coach who has the girls playing much better than in years past. Every time the subject of NDA comes up you want to point to building a foundation well if that foundation was built well you wouldn't have got fired. Did they fire you for no reason? I have heard that you had trouble getting along with players and parents but let me guess that was all the fault of those mean NDA parents.

How many kids are coming to you for lessons? You seem to know more than a D 2 coach and others.

SSC - I think you have me confused for the wrong guy. I know the prior NDA coach well but will not comment on issues that I was not privy to personally. I like the new coach, the way the NDA softball program is moving and wish the NDA girls and their program nothing but the best of luck. They have obviously done things right and I assume that they will dominate their weak district and contend for the region starting this year.

  2. Danielle Baer is an outstanding pitcing coach. She has worked at Diamonds and Dreams with Chris Minor for several years. I have seen her work with pitchers for a few years and they have all had good results.

You have too be drunk to make this statement. She doesn't have a clue and her past results with the Explosion and now release from Boone show why. Hase no idea how to relate to players.

  3. Congrats to Brossart! I will say I have looked at Brossart's wins the last 6 to 8 years, and they have won about 20 plus games each and every year. Is there some scorebook magic going on? Probably, but I can say there is some magic going on about 95% of every team. Scorebook magic or not, that doesn't win you games, and they have proved they win games. Our team (ND) is starting to win games. I would love to be that consistent in winning. Their schedule is just as tough as about any team out there, there are some that have tougher, but they play some very good teams. Im backing the BGH on this one! Be proud of your team, we are hoping to be consistent in the win category as well. We are on our way! Go Pandas!

That's because NDA finally has a program and now consistancy...they have a foundation built over the last few years, depth at each position and good athletes who are not playing other sports. No secret here, this team will just get better.

  4. Chip's problem is he was alway on his cellphone trying to make his next deal.

John Zoellner is at Wilder Town and Country but he has a different approach than most.

Like what I have seen from Chris Minor's subjects.

Save yourself some money and watch a website video and then work with some area coaches with a pitching background.

No one in NKY knows enough to make a difference.

Bracken's pitchers worked with Chip Gregg for years. He worked with Katelyn Meyer who went on to Thomas More and played for a year. He worked with Sara Sticklen who went out with an ACL injury during basketball season but would've been the best pitcher in the tenth region this season otherwise. He worked with Emma Conley who is only a sophomore with 12 wins under her belt with a pretty hefty schedule.

I'm not about to take jabs at Chip on this site like others because he knows his stuff pretty well and worked well with these girls and they've been successful as a result of things he taught them.

Covington Catholic, Moeller football teams in discussion for home-and-home series in 2013 and ’14

The Covington Catholic and Moeller football programs are close to signing a contract that would finalize a Week 2 game for the 2013 and ’14 seasons, according to both schools.

The agreement is a paperwork formality at this point, according to CovCath coach David Wirth. The 2013 game would be at CovCath and the ’14 game would be at Moeller’s home venue.

Wirth, a former Moeller player and assistant coach, was on the 1992 Moeller team that lost in an upset to CovCath in a meeting between the schools.

Moeller leads the all-time series between the schools 8-1, according to former Moeller AD Dick Beerman. The last meeting was in 2005.

Thanks for the clarification. I was getting info from Moeller Alumni club.

  6. Nice win by NDA, I think they may have made the right choice by switching coaches seems like they are playing well.

Coaching change may or may not have helped - this team was going to win and continue winning in a weak district and with a developed talent pool. The biggest difference is the current roster has young players (mostly sophs) dedicated and committed ONLY to softball year round. They have matured and gotten better at each position with another year under their belts. And they will continue to get better with more game experience if they stay together. The old and new coaching staff should be commended for getting the program back on track and keeping it moving in the right direction.

As far as the field, I think that has been a collective effort of ND admins willing to spend money while they did the soccer field and other campus improvements as well as, again, a group of committed players and their families.

Good to see another NDA sport succeeding.

  7. I would agree with BGH at times ND looked like a defferent team from last year and then a few mistakes and it was back to the old. I will say this BBHS hits the ball hard. I seen them play this weekend and every game they hit well. Even there outs were hard outs, Was very impressed for sure ! Overall the tournament was alot of good softball, alot of quality teams. Congrats to Conner !

It will be the same teams, same districts, same regions - Ryle and Conner, Dixie and St. Henry in Regional Semis - one caveat would be if Boone can overtake Ryle or Conner

  8. Colonel....just so everyone is aware, your personal observations listed above aren't what happened in this situation.

I agree, I was answering SSC's posting. My apologies as my personal observation had nothing to do with Bella's situation.

  9. Do you have a problem with parents? Seems like all things wrong in sports has to do with parents. I would say this and every case is different but most good coaches have very few problems with parents, and I have coached or helped coach my whole life starting at 16 but I have never once blamed our teams problems on parents. There are ALOT of bad coaches out there and I am sure some crazy parents but you can't blame all your problems on parents.

No problem with parents, just the behavior of a few which you find at every school and can ruin it for everyone. I'm not a coach so I can't comment from the sidelines, just the stands and my personal observations to the backstabbing and badmouthing that takes place about coaches and high school players. Usually, it is those parents who think they can do better, or their kid is the best and should get more (playing time, attention, etc.), etc. What I have found is that the issues and complaints the parents have is only important to them, not to their son or daughter. The kids need to learn to speak up on their own if they have an issue about something or someone. They will need to have that skill in college and the real world.

  10. From what I was told by someone in the know, Patti told Bella she was going to handle the catching duties this year and she was fine with that. However Bella's mom caught wind of this and told Patti if she catches she will not play, Patti said, girls Bella's not playing this year. That's what I like about Patti she doesn't put up with any crap from players or parents.:ylsuper:

YOU ARE 100% ACCURATE - ON ALL ACCOUNTS!!! ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF PARENTS SCREWING A GOOD THING UP.:thumb:

  11. There is no doubt that dominant pitching, regardless of the grade (Smith, Sims, Shackelford, etc. or people who have graduated), make a coach look good - but more important, whether its reloading or rebuilding, those schools that have coaches who have established GOOD PROGRAMS are the ones that win year in and year out. Ryle, Conner, Bishop, SK, Walton, Bracken - they may not all have good coaches in the game, but they have built a softball program and community that is dedicated and players and their families are willing to make a commitment to winning. Love them or hate them, you can't deny their win totals and success year in and year out for the last, say 10 years.
