Looks like the tomcats might have to bring their "mud cleats" again on friday.
Nah, no mud cleats needed. I seen the tarps on the field yesterday. So, it has not received any rain on the field itself...:flame: I am sure that a helicopter would be handy to dry it up also if needed........:dancingpa

Wow....I really don't know how to predict this one. I will take JC by 10. Too much JC defense in this one.
-
Wow, I leave for one day and come back and the thread is shut down. I still think JC wins by 5 touchdowns in this one.
-
I really thought was was a winnable game after watching SC early in the year. But after giving up the points and yardage to Central Michigan on Saturday, I am afraid that Spurrier's offense just might carve the defense up also. I do think that UK can score on SC but in the end Spurrier versus Brooks who do you take? SC - 28 UK - 24

Is Ashland allowed to bring their own officials with them?
-
The only common opponent that JC and Greenup County has is South Point, OH. JC played South Point, OH at home in the 2nd week of the season, JC won 35-8. Greenup County played South Point, OH at home in the 5th week of the season, Greenup County won 36-12.
I was at the South Point game. I think JC has made great strides since then. Have to beat them by more than 30 or we will be the "non proven underdogs" going into the Ashland game. I think this team will be focused and not looking ahead. Coach Matney knows you have to win this one in order to have a shot at District title and home field advantage.
-
Well, I haven't really followed Greenup's scores but I will take JC by 5 TDs. The big question will be can Greenup score on JC's first team defense? This defense is stout by any standards. I don't care what JC's SOS is they have been killing people on both sides of the ball. They score big points but they also don't give up points.

I can't wait to see the outcome of this one.

I am glad that JC is getting those types of facilities. The track issue has always been a problem. JC could never host any big track meets because of the 100 meter sprint lanes not being long enough. Sounds as though all sports at JC are getting the upgrades that has been needed for awhile. I just hope that any new football stands that are constructed will be big enough to handle the crowds that have been showing up at the football games. As far as Friday night went, just as I pretty much expected. Too many bodies for Paintsville to over come. I was making a comment to the person I was standing beside at the game, that 4 of the young men that was painted blue could make a whole lot of difference in that team if they played football not enough to have won the game, but that is 4 pretty good athletes not playing football.

So, is it going to be a quiet time on here today? A quiet day of game....Wow...
-
And you can bet that the one when JC and Ashland face off wont either.
You are right unless Greenup Co. goes in takes care of business this week. If that were to happen then I think the maroon nation will be a little on the quiet side that week.

Are you saying that all of us Tigers use bad language??? Go look at the other site.... I do not see any bad language...
If you would read the post a little closer it says a few of them. So, don't take too much offense before you read it better.
-
And what makes it so funny is that I just about the only Tiger fan posting...and I think I have shown quite a bit of restraint
Yeah, why has all of your buddies quit socializing on BGP? I know that a few of them are on another site....My guess is, they get to say things and use language that is not allowed on here......

For some reason, I knew that the other thread would not last until game time.

It's hard to get excited about a Greenup County game, but it is the start to district play and a big welcome back for Bonner. Is there any word if Bonner will be playing both ways?
That is exactly the attitude that you need to take into the game. :thumb:

5 foot????????
I thought it was 10.
Well, it could be now that you mention it.......
-
Let's just hope then that Ashland's kickers are on target. Maybe we need that officiating crew from the last regular season home game of last year to do this game then.
Yeah, that would be good..........Their theory is anything within 5 foot is good..

If UK is not full of themselves after the Florida game.......UK 42 CM 21 if UK is full of themselves after the Florida game.....UK 21 CM 20 (blocked extra point saves the game). But, I don't think the coaching staff will let the players overlook this game, if they do, then they may not be around very long............Go Cats, I hope to be in attendance.

Well, I was debating on even predicting on this game. I will say that Central hangs 50+ on the Tigers. I am really curious to see if Paintsville can score on the first team "D" of Central. I think Coach Matney knows what he has in front of him in the way of a big district game coming up in a few weeks and I think he will get a comfortable lead and then let the younger kids play. He has already seen his share of injuries this year and I am sure he wouldn't want to see a player go down knowing he left them in too long. The season for Central goes way beyond the Paintsville game. We all know that emotions run high for the Paintsville game and why take a chance on getting a key player hurt in order to prove a point. So, I hope that both teams come out with no injuries but I also would like to see Central with another big win in the same fashion as the last two years.......Good luck Eagles....

Perfect night for another JC win.

Maybe the infamous "mud cleats" won't be delivered until tomorrow!!! :sssh:
Oh I am sure that the Mud cleats are delivered before there is ever a first practice..

This whole converstion about tapes , media guides etc. is just plain stupid. Was Johnson Central invited to play in the the CVB because they were a good up and coming football program that would provide a competitive game or were they invited to come and participate in a dog and pony show and just lie down for one of the Laurel County Schools? It seems to me that the first scenerio about being a competitive participant was more than fulfilled by Matney and Johnson Central. That was his duty and his only duty. In fact he may have obliged a little too much in that department, looking at the score for some of you Laurel Countians.
Matney's job is to win football games at Johnson Central within the rules of the game and nothing else more. He was not hired by the Johnson County School Board to have his teams be a participant in a traveling tent carnival. Do you all want to play football down there or are you all now a part of Barnum and Bailey? If Johnson Central is supposed to come and only be the bearded lady or the man with two noses in the event, I could care less if they are ever invited back.
Excellent post Firebird. Been missing hearing from you. I hope all is well in your end of the world?

That is what the parents need to show up wearing, that would just add fuel to a JC team that has waited a year for this game. Never go into a dog's backyard and tantalize him too much.....
