I agree that it is Hazard's to lose but in order to beat Hazard you have to have good guard play and I think Estill and Cordia both have that. It will be a hard row to hoe for Hazard. They could have gotten a much easier draw.
-
Pressing teams don't mormally perform when they are pressed. They don't get a chance to develop the defensive mindset when they are trapped and pressed on both ends.
-
Estill has what it takes at tourney time. Guards that take care of the basketball and they have 4 or 5 that play and take care of the ball. LCC has the same ability as well as Cordia. At tourney time all bets are off as to what happened earlier in the year. There will no 20 point wins in this tourney.

Hazard by 10.

Hasn't anybody seen Banks from LCC? Would make any team in the 14th better.
-
Great game and some good performances by Powell. Kinser with 20 plus, Banks had 18 or so, Mays had close to 20 rebounds, Cory Brewer had a double double, and Crowe done a great job of making Charles work for shots. Good team effort by Powell.

I agree. There are five or six coaches in th 14th that would coast to Rupp with the talent at JBS. Mr. Stepp is a fine young man but is not a D-1 player. He was under a lot of pressure and handled it like a kid that he is. That is not a slam it is just facts. Good player, great team, high expectations and no results this year.
-
Agreed. He is a good high school player but the next level is for education and not basketball for that young man.
-
LCC wins by 10.
-
Clark Stepp as an other?????? Just guessing and it wasn't me.

There are 5 or 6 coaches in the 14th that could have taken Cox,Collins, and Short and waltzed thru the tourney. Not trying to bash a young man but there are 25 kids that could have scored 3000 points if they were allowed 30 shots a game. The best group of athletes did not win last night but the best team did. Great job by LCC and Coach Justice. I sure wouldn't want to play LCC very deep into the regional tourney.

The favorite has to be from the 54th or 56th. The draw dictates the winner, usually.

Owls looked great and played hard. Congrats to Coach Noble and the Owls.
-
Wolfe on a buzzer beater.
-
Estill by double digits. HOWEVER, it is March and the Owls have a history for upsets. Heart says Owls, head says Engineers.

Powell at home is tough to handle. The Pirates in a close close close one.
-
Wolfe Co. wins in a nail biter.
-
Hazard! Deep and well coached. I think it is their tourney to lose.
-
I have seen a lot of padded averages in high school baseball. A legitimate .300 team average would be exceptional and they would win a lot of games.

Powell is struggling right now but the young staff will have Powell ready come tourney time. PCC is certainly peaking at the right time.
Who has the nicest field in the state?

They don't get much nicer than PRP, Corbin, Lawrence Co. and Pikeville. Pulaski and Somerset also have nice facilities.
