Yep, that sounds about right...seriously I think that's what they do...
I guess its harmless and I know Baoni would never allow anything negative and yes kids will be kids, but for me personally Iam just not a big fan of it at this level and age group.:thumb:
Got to be better than pickin splinters and talking about everything but baseball.

I can assure that Coach Baioni would make sure his kids were keeping it classy. He very much respects the game and makes sure the kids do as well.

Nice bounce-back win for the Birds. After dropping a close one to Beechwood to start the day, HC got out to an early 4-0 lead with some solid hitting.
A 5 run 3rd inning was capped off by the 2 run, 2 out HR from SO Allen to give the Birds a lead.
HC tied it up in the 4th, but the Birds plated 4 in the bottom of the 5th to push it out to the final margin.
Nice work by SO Jones to go 5 without his best stuff and location. Liggett was a strong change of pace that kept HC off balance over the 2 innings he threw.
Birds are scheduled at Campbell Co. on WED before a FRI night game at Carroll Co. and SAT at Elder. The team heads to Myrtle Beach for 7 games in 5 days after that.

Did he get a medical redshirt?

I guess we should add HHS JR Joey Cochran to this conversation. 65 pitch complete game, struck out 6, walked none, gave up one hit. He was dealing yesterday....
-
With the bats that are currently being used, the days of the long ball are over. You wil see a couple but I would say if a single kid hits 5 or more that's a pretty good season. Oh, and welcome aboard, Dinger.

Thanks. Any idea how much it would cost to turf just the infield?
Low end $125,000 high end $250,000
-
How many turf fields are there in KY?
Champions in Florence
LexCath
Legends in Lexington
UL
Others?
PRP infield is turf.

He has an above average glove..
You sure know your stuff on BW. You got kids there?

Whitford and Allen from HHS will be very strong.

Olivia Voskhul..not sure of the spelling but she put on a shooting clinic tonight! She is a heck of a player. One of the better performances I have seen in a long time. Congrats to ND and also to Highlands. Voskhul was just to much for Highlands tonight. Everytime Highlands would get close she would just break it back open.
What year is she?

Wow....it's been walk city all night and with very little called. Disappointing!!!
How's sweep holding up?

Cuts today? More tomorrow? What's the scoop?
First cut was yesterday. There will be another one in a few days.

The Bengals lead the league in salary cap space, but that doesn’t mean they’re going on a spending spree on March 12.
In fact, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis says that the team’s priority is to keep the players it has, not to add a lot of high-priced talent from elsewhere.
“Our cap space needs to be spent on our own players,” Lewis told NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
At the very least, Lewis’s comments strongly suggest that the Bengals won’t be out-bid for Smith or Johnson. If either of those two get away, that’s a bad sign for fans in Cincinnati.

Im not gonna be shocked if they leave. Who wouldnt want go somewhere where they can win the "BIG" games....

The only one I remember was doty
He's an 8th grader this year.

Excellent put down of either Bellevue or Newport..............................:isurrender:
Truth hurts, if you dont like it change it or get out.
-
There are tons of 8th graders trying out this year. It will be interesting to see how many freshman they push up to JV and replace with the 8th graders. They have these kids interested and if some of them can play I'm wondering how many they give a shot to.
With upperclassmen number finally where they should be, I dont think you'll see many 9th graders playing JV.
-
Anyone hear how Highlands baseball tryouts are going? Sounds like they have lots to chose from this year?
Roughly 75 kids. Tight races between some for spots on a team that graduated one senior contributor from a year ago. Younger ranks are booming with numbers.
-
It bothers me. Iam with others on the argument of the non-seeding and I will be the first to say the team that draws the 36th Dist loser gets a real bunny in the first round,
NewCath's worst game will be better than the others best game ever and they will most likely still get bet by 30...
It's time for the state to step in and require seeding for every district. What is the point of the regular season games if it means nothing towards post season rank? Once again the two best teams arent moving on as a direct result.
-
How do most teams conduct tryouts? Is there typically a first cut? How long of a period is this?
-
What happened to the guy that was there?

Had to go there.....:isurrender:

It feels like Christmas Eve......

Wondering does that 76 include - Brandon Buten - who will be out for the season due to shoulder injury suffered in basketball, and - Brandon Hergott - out for the season recovering from ACL surgery?
If those two juniors are not in the number, that brings the number of boys interested in being part of the baseball resurgence to 78.
no it doesnt

Who's the kid on Conner's team that made me think of Kelly Leak from Bad News Bears? Still on the team?
That's Blaise.

Congrats to him on a great accomplishment. Does anyone think this guy could go farther in baseball than football?
