I cant believe no one has mentioned this one but, Michael Bush vs. Brian Brohm in the state finals was a game I was lucky to be on the sidelines for. It was crazy!!

I don't expect Ryle to throw alot because I think HHS's strength on defense is thier secondary. I think Burns(sp)? and Abner maybe their two best players. This game will be interesting and only a fool would pick against the birds at home, but I think this week will find the birds in some unfamiliar territory. IMO the two best players on the field will be on the opposing team, the Raiders will be just as well conditioned and won't be begging to come out of the game in the mid-second quarter like some guys from Manual were and the most certaintly will not be intimidated playing at HHS. I think this game will be a challenge for HHS because Ryle's O-line is lean, tall and athletic, kind of in the HHS mold if you will, so the speed of HHS's D-line may not bother them as much. I predict a fairly highscoring and hardhitting game. It will be a great one to watch.
Great post.

If I could go back in time I'd change my schedule to be out of town last weekend and IN town this weekend.
Maybe one of the 73 dads that film for Highlands can come up with a game tape for me.
Thats funny right there!!

There's a certain level of preparation that comes with the game of football, as most of you know. I just think with the facilities and probably the best athletes in NKY to work with that the expectations arent being met...IMO. Every year Dixie is picked to do fairly well but it never seems to pan out. I dont know maybe I expect more.

What would someone at the game say the run to pass ratio was for the Bluebirds??
-
Thanks I've followed Dixie for a while. It just seems it could be better.
-
Nice win for the Breds! How many more games will the Dixie faithful have to put up with the lack of coaching? For the money spent to make that complex the premiere complex in NKY it has to be frustrating!
-
Who do they play?

Why is he on the cover of the media guide?
-
If not Wagner, I would think that Eddie Eviston, who is on the staff would be a viable candidate.

Sweeperboy's latest and greatest score with a bow...
Both Sweep and the deer have the same look....

They should put the old turf from the field in Death Valley.
Better yet take it to the soccer complex. :idunno:

Will was never a DI QB. He's making a great decision.

All I'm saying is that HC played this team MUCH tougher than NCC did. The game went down to a last second intereption by the HC QB.
The regular season game between NCC and HC has nothing to do with this. Yes HC was embarrassed in that game, but they were DEFINITELY the better team at the end of the year.
Probably would have beaten NCC by 2 TD's had they played.
Shoulda coulda woulda....
check out:
It'll be perfect for you.

Wow! Holy Cross fought these guys tooth and nail until the final seconds...and should have won the game (despite their inept coaching).
I guess NCC just wanted the season to be over! Pretty sure that HC would have beaten NCC handily this time...had they met of course.
Oh well, a down year for both programs. At least NCC was expected to have a down year. HC expected to have their best year...and ended up 6-6. Just proves that talent alone can't overcome bad coaching.
Are you serious?!? Obviously they weren't good enough to make it to the third round. You have to be kidding. The chance HC had to change their route in the playoffs faltered when they got beat by NCC in the regular season. Give NCC the credit, its ok to do that!

Livin' the dream!

I'm going with the Rebs'

Really.......:laugh::laugh::Like I said, lets get back to game. No sense trying to figure out what you guys have and what we don't. Period!!!
I know one thing we have that they don't...... a game next week. :sssh:
-
I'd have to say that the Breds have ALOT of questions to answer with their program from top to bottom before next season.
-
Hey, I hope the local Authorities are able to make the trip up North next week so we can return the Awesome hospitality we received last year. They made us really feel right at home....:thumb:
Boy howdy!!!:eek::eek::eek:

I think holding Dixie scoreless is surprising. Especially after the way they played last week.
Last week doesn't count.
-
Just so you know...
In Class 5A...
Dixie is #1 in team passing
HHS is NOT in the top 15 in passing defense
Dixie QB Ryan Wilson is #1 in passing
Dixie has 3 of the top 9 receiving leaders...
Josh Stegner #6
Bobby Leonard #8
Ben Haggerty #9
Don't underestimate any playoff team...Dixie has a lot to prove...and perhaps the means to do so.
The only number that counts is the number of W's on the schedule. If the birds have 15 at the end of the season....what other stat is there? Oh yeah...championships are fun to count too!

Dont know much about Catholic this year. I heard that they have a good RB and QB. Speed wise I think Holmes has the edge. I guess it comes down to who does more work in the trenches. Should be a good one! Probably the best game in NKY this week.

Dixie is ready to leave it all on the field. They've come together as a team so much more since the last time the two teams faced off.
If everything comes together, and the team performs, Dixie has a shot.
HOWDY BOYS!
There's a better chance of Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny singing the national anthem!

Nice facilities should aid in the growth of any program. Ask a coach at a small unfortunate school if they feel like they would be better suited with better tools to work with. I know there are many coaches that would die for Dixie's setup. Secondly its not just one game. These expectations and goals for Dixie have been elevated for years, and it seems like it never comes to fruition. Looks like from the posts, others feel the same way.
