The argument for the extra classes would say that breaking the classes down evenly is a waste of time and that the problem would still exist. If T and X have 1400 boys, how is "more fair" to have Dixie in with them with only 600 boys? The problem still exists.
If you're going to do this, you have to create the Super Class that Guru mentions. Do not do it evenly.
I'll agree with the having the Super Class .:thumb: I think it would be good for all the schools !:thumb:

I talked to Coach Spritzky last night and they are doing a little passing/practice, or whatever teams call it at this time of year. Didn't think to ask where, but freedom park sounds right. As always, Tom is a little more woried about filling positions vacated by seniors than I am. I can't wait till the passing camp. I'm like a kid in a candy store. Matt Mosier is doing great, should be 100% before the season. Same for Jake.
Very happy to hear that ! :D I can't wait to see them both back playing !!!:thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I heard that Haught from Scott is moving into Simon Kenton's district and will be transferring there.
Is Scott losing anyone else ? I heard there could be more moving also !

So who will have the best Kicker this year ??? I know Dixie returns Jett this year , who started as a Soph. . He should be very strong this year at xpts and Fg's ! He needs to work at putting the ball in the endzone's more on kick-off's ! But should be one of the TOP K'ers if he work's hard in the OFF-SEASON !!!:thumb:

To summarize our list by school so far:
Holmes: Leo Foster, Bob Barton
Dixie: Mark Pike, Larry Schrieber
Bellevue: Bob Dougherty
Dayton: A. Murray
Boone County: Shaun Alexander, Irv Goode, John Shannon
Conner: Jason Johnson
CCH: Bob Naber, Dan Tiemen
Highlands: Marty Moore, Jared Lorenzon, Jerry Reynolds, Mike McGraw, Jeff Kremer, Chuck Kyle
Lloyd: Billy Lyon, Chris Hook, Jeoff Long
NCC: Dave Cowens, Jeff Brady, Scott Wiggins, Larry Staverman
Latin: David Justice
Beechwood: Brandon Berger
Covington Grant: Tom Thacker
SK - Webster - went to UK and I think picked up by Washington
Lloyd - Kunkle ?? Not sure on the spelling - UK - went to Atlanta
Both " O " LINE
-
Who are some of the WR's this year to watch for ? Also who will be some of the starting QB's this year ??
-
He's officially at TE. I'm guessing Pete is 6'2 to 6'3 and probably weights between 210 and 220 right now. CCH uses him in the slot a lot (if you're familiar with how HHS used Ben Guidugli - they're similar).
Great job Pete S !!!:ylsuper: Good luck with ND !:thumb:
-
WOW! I'm surprised that UK would do that. Not that I don't think Matt is good. I do. Just not sure he's the right size for what coaches usually look for in a LB in the SEC. I'm sure he'll do great if given half a chance, which if your correct, he has been given.
Congratulations to both of you!
I think UK's projected starters range in size from : Schuler 6-3 233 , Kelly 6-0 226 ,Woodyard 6-1 226 , at the LB position . I think if Matt work's hard he'll fit right in that size range . But the speed will be the key ! Work HARD and Congrat's Matt !!!:thumb: Also Congrat's to Sean McGee too !!!:thumb: I hope to see you both playing soon !!!!!:ylsuper:

He was not the best in NKY last year IMO. He is very good, and I'm not sure that you got to see how much so last season. He was only a sophmore so, look for bigger and better things this year. I think that Scotty Gray from Ryle is a better back. I'm not sure that Farris is in the top three of NKY yet, though he may be after thiis season though.
I can see the top three rb's in 4A this year in NKY : Farris - Boone , Grey - Ryle , Molony - Dixie !!!:thumb: With Kramer - Birds , Buckley - CCH , Vickers - NCC the next three !!!:thumb: And Bishop - SK , Haught - Scott , Bankamper - B-Wood , Covington - Holmes to round out the top 10 !!!:thumb:
-
I'll admit that I only saw Farris once last season. After all the pre-game hype, I wasn't impressed. Someone familiar with his game fill me in. Did he just have an off-night that game in Marshall Stadium? I'm not bashing the kid, but to say he is the best player in all of NKY 4A is pretty bold.
Didn't get to see your game last year , but He's the best RB in NKY this year and close to one of the best on " O " ! As far as " D " , I don't think so . I can see 4 or 5 alot better on " D " this year .
-
The best player in NKY 4A next season will be Corey Farris.
The Best RB yes , the best player I'm not so sure . 4A is very DEEP with talent this coming year . To say he's the BEST Player , it's a little early for that !
-
I believe the return 3 out of 5 on the line. I haven't been in touch with the program lately but I believe they had a very good freshman FB named Wilson who should be in the backfield with him, they may be the biggest backfield in NKY.
Was he # 4 or 40 something for the fresh team last year ? If that's him , he's nice size RB ! With alittle speed !:thumb:

Preseason Poll for NKY 4A
1. Boone
2. Dixie
3. Ryle
4. SK
5. CC
6. Scott
7. Holmes
8. Conner
Just something to start with ???
-
What aobut Bishop from S.K.?
Bishop is a very good back ! Should have a great year for SK this year ! Who else is blocking or running with him this year ? How about the O-Line this year , any returning starters ?
-
If I'm looking at the field from Dixie Highway, is the field going to be "slanted" left to right or right to left (ie towards Cawood's former site or towards the School board site)?
From the conner of the new gym , right to left towards the old Caywood I think . Thats the way it look's now .
-
Who start's out with the tough schedule this year ? I know Dixie has Birds , B-Wood and CCH ! Not to bad for the start of the season !:fight:
-
Look's like there getting a good jump on moving the dirt around for the complex !:ylsuper: You can start to see how the football feild will be laid out !:ylsuper: :ylsuper: :ylsuper:

I wouldn't be so quick to exclude Vicars. He will have something to say atleast in the NKY area.
Vicar's is good , but Farris I think is a better back ! He's a load to stop , good speed and if you load the line up. He'll throw a 40 yard pass on ya ! Believe me, I wish he wasn't in 4A and Vicar's would be the top back in NKY !:thumb:

Mosier went down after what, 3 or four games? It took untill the last game of the year for anyone to catch up to him. I wish we could have seen a whole year from him. I think he might change your mind when the season starts. But even so, Detmer is awesome. I'm really looking forward to watching these guys this year. Mosier, Detmer, Gibson, Maloney, Vocke, Stahlkamp, Day, Neugent, Brandon, Lucas, Baegley and whoever else I'm forgetting in the backfield. Justin Maxwell, will be a sophmore RB/LB next season and should add to what is already a good group.
Didn't get much playing time with Gumble in front of him , but Eastham should fill in nice for Gumble/Huenefeld type TE/WR . Good hands over the middle and not afraid to take the big hit to make the catch ! Also good size and block's well !!!:thumb: When does passing camp start and how long until the pad's come out ??? I CAN'T WAIT !!!!!!

Ryle was the pre season and untill the last week of the regular season, the favorite to win the district last season.
HOWEVER,
Dixie is the 4A District Champs.
We lost 5 players to graduation.
We are the top dog on the block with the only other team being Boone Co, and I would put them almost even with us going into the year. Though I wouldn't get excited if you wanted to put them ahead of us in the preseason. It's a subjective call. I don't think so, but I can live with it if the Rebels want to be proud of their team and place them ahead of us. Ryle SHOULD have taken the district crown last season. They know that, and so do we, but they didn't. We did. Why? Well if they figure that one out, I suspect they won't let it happen again.
Dixie will repeat as District Champs again, and it won't shock me if they play in Louisville in December. All we have to do is beat BC.
:thumb: :thumb:

Ryle is without a doubt the heavy favorite, i believe that they are playing at nippert stadium next year against glen estey....obviously someone important thinks they are good.....
Wasn't Ryle the heavy favorite last year too !!! Losing most of there line doesn't help much either ! I'll take Boone and Dixie over Ryle this year !!!
-
As I recall these guys were pretty young last year... they could put a good run together in 06.
The whole district was young last year ! It will be a war each game for everyone in 4A this year in NKY !:ylsuper: Who ever win's or make's the playoff's this year will be battle-tested .It should be one of the best 4A district's in the state !!!:thumb:
-
DIXIE! you got to love them Dixie boys, but how does there line look on O and D?
BIG and STRONG , with alot of Sr's and Jr's on it !:ylsuper: Should'nt be many, if any going both way's ! Should be astrong point on this team on both sides of the ball !!!:thumb: :thumb:
-
I would have to say Anderson at X for now. I don't know enough about others at this time.
I think Farris might have a chance to break some of that guy from Seattle's records ! What's his name Shaun Alexander !!! Corey F is a very good back and has 2 years to get better ! So I'll put him in with the BEST in the state !!!:thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I'll agree with that , the key for them is how well they do on the line ! Who do they have coming back or stepping up this year ?
