  1. If I was the King of the NCAA...

-Players could go straight to the NBA out of High School.

-Scholarship players would be given a stipend of $5K per month ($60K per year) that they are enrolled in school and on track academically. A lot of the money would come from new Final Four TV Contract which would be bid separately from the rest of the tournament...All Final Four Money would go into player pool.

-I'd leave the number of teams where it is now.

-The Final Four would be a best two out of three in the semis and finals (Thurs, Sat, Mon)...after all aren't we trying to get the best team not the luckiest one?

-No football stadiums for the Final Four.

-Final 8 teams getting into the tournament as at-large teams would be selected based on blind analytics with no name or conference affiliation used in the selection process.

-Cut the season back by two games to shorten the season by one week, which would allow expanding the Final Four.

You wouldn't have any power over players going straight to NBA.

  2. At some point this year there have been at least 15-20 teams that were legitimately

contention for a national Championship. Not sure I'd call that a hanful.

There may have been 15-20 that were in contention to get in the playoffs but not to win a championship. This year there has been 6-8 at the most at the beginning of the year and really just 1 for most of the year.

  3. I don't get the desire to give more teams a shot at the title. There's not a need. Regardless of how many teams are put in the playoff each year, I could name you a group of 6 or so teams before the start of each year and guarantee the Champion would come from that group. Same as any other sport. There's maybe 10 teams that have a shot in CBB each year. NFL, MLB, NBA, it's probably 4-5. Why should college football be different?

Pretty much. I'm probably one of the few that thought the BCS did a pretty good job identifying the two best. I'm good with 4 and to make my plan above work I'd be ok with 6.

  4. 1.NFL rules

2.Reduce size of P5 conferences and create a 6th power conference.

3.All other FBS schools have their own championship/playoffs.

3.For P6 teams, OOC games must be against other P6 games. No more mid majors or FCS schools.

4.Top 2 in each conference play for conference title.

5.Conference champs all play for National title.

  5. I'm with this point from Voice. Further, I dont know anyone who thinks they are remotely #9, heck, it was mocked all over the place the day after the Top 10 came out.

Again, all of that said, I think for many reasons it would be great to see a UK win, I'm certainly rooting for it to happen.

I've not heard anyone mock UKs #9 ranking other than the extreme haters. You can argue whether they should be a few spots lower but anyone mocking it is ignorant. Based on your last couple of posts I don't believe for one second you want to see UK to win.

  6. To be fair the only person I've seen accusing KY is a former play by play guy. Saw it on KSR's facebook. Maybe others are accusing KY of wrong doing as well but I've not seen those.

I will say that if Nebraska is going to get this butt hurt over losing 1 recruit from KY I would echo what UKMF said about them never getting back to what they were.

  7. It’s a debate I think Ohio State will win in the end, so yes. If Oklahoma gets in over Ohio State I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s the wrong choice, I just don’t think it will play out that way. That scenario you laid out isn’t exactly a likely one. It’s so easy to say if everyone wins out who gets in, but the odds are heavily against everyone winning out.

History says it's not likely but it shows that OSU does not control their own destiny. They have to win out and hope several other teams lose.

  8. What exactly could Ohio State do to have changed any of that? Even if they beat Purdue they would still only have 1 win over a team with a winning record. Is it somehow OSUs fault that TCU sucks? Sometimes that’s just the way the cookie crumbles.

It's not their fault but doesn't matter. It's really their bad luck TCU stinks as it took what should should be a great win and made it mostly meaningless. What is OSU's fault is getting smoked by an average Purdue team.

  9. Never. If Ohio State wins out it won’t matter, we’re in. Plus it makes the Penn State win look better. No matter who wins this game this weekend it helps Ohio State in some way. So no way in hell am I rooting for Michigan this weekend.

Another scenario...Bama, Clemson, ND, Oklahoma, and OSU all win out. You think OSU is getting in over Oklahoma?
