Besides X, Trinity and Cov Cath how many Private schools have won a State Championship in football since 1980?

I think it's so early in the year that it's too early to get too worked up about where you are. I think in 3A you could take 5 teams and flip flop them in any order 1-5 and make an argument. To me they look pretty darn good. You can always make a case here or there but if somebody thinks they have one more accurate with more info, I'd like to see it!

Russell is without question one of the elite programs year in year out in 2A. True they haven't gotten over the hump but the put a top product on the field every year. I can't remember them ever being down.

Great question! I've wondered the same thing.

This thread is moving so fast it's hard to tell what's going on. If anybody hears any concreate breaking news on the situation please share. Was it just a coiencidence this happened today or what? Who decides when the appeals are looked over?

That's what I like about Boyle Co. They want to be considered the best and they don't want to hear the "what if" questions that will be started as soon as Boyle wins on Saturday.
That's my feelings exactly! Boyle and Highlands are top notch programs! They don't duck anybody and they are powerhouses because they don't live with excuses! Excuses make programs weak! I wish both teams could have every player healthy, buckle their chin straps and get it on! :madman: :fight:

You two need to PM each other about last weeks news! This thread is about this week!

I have a feeling if this stays up it could break the all time reply record! I would venture to say that it has broken the record for hits in a day. The only funny thing about this whole thing is that this thread will have more hits then the Notre Dame fires their coach thread! Guess this shows our passion for KY High School Football!

If you're going that route then you can go all the way back to Grant Co who was knocked out of the playoffs in their District. Somewhere a line has to be drawn. This might be the biggest black eye in the History of KY High School Football. It will be interesting to see how things play out. It's unfortunate that a bunch of teenage kids and coaches that spend countless hours away from their families for the kids have to go through this kind of stuff! He is the biggest difference maker for Highlands and even if he dosen't play and Highlands does then nobody wins! If Boyle wins it will be said that it was because Highlands lost their best player. If Highlands wins it's because they made it with an illegal player. If Highlands dosen't get to go then it will be Boyle beat the 3rd best team in 3A if Boyle gets beat by that team then it's because they had to prepare for somebody new! I was REALLY looking forward to this reamatch along with most everybody in the state. I really felt like Boyle was going to unload on the Birds. I hope everything gets straightened out.

Why can't the public school powers that be get this one through their thick skulls?

This is an interesting debate. I thought the KHSAA made schools have boundries. I had no idea that Highlands, Beechwood etc. didn't have boundries. That would make for a lot of hurt feelings in Eastern KY! I always wondered how those schools always had so many athletes. Don't get me wrong, I KNOW they outwork 98% of the teams out there but it is interesting that they don't have boundries. It seems like the schools get the best of both worlds because they can pick and chose the kids they want which would cut down on discipline problems and raise test scores if I'm reading this correct.
