  1. Overheard today: "Jackson County got what they deserve by not voting to seed." And with matchups with Clay in the district semifinals likely in both boys and girls, the person who uttered this statement seems pretty on the money.

:thumb: I agree. I also heard that the Jackson County's Boy's Coach wanted to seed, but his principal voted to draw.

  2. Why NL waits until 3 minutes left in the game to play hard boggles me. If they would play the entire game with the intensity that they had in the end of the second and fourth quarters, they would be a very dangerous team.

Nice game by Billy Carson for NL, and Josh Crawford for Corbin. Corbin's ball handling is their achilles heel. Once NL turned up the heat, theyCorbin cold barely get the bll inbounds, let alone up the floor.

    On another note...

Typical showing by King Ralph and his cronies in this one.

  3. Not this again. I have seen all three play and this is my take.

Proffit-by far the best overall point guard in the region easy. No questions asked.

Allen-The quickest PG in the region.

    Stewart-The better shooter.

All of these players have different components that make them good. Proffit just has more of them.

I believe this says it best. I do wonder how Proffit & Miller's 3 pt % compare.

  4. This entire page of postings has made me angry. First of all, I doubt that some of you realize where the mountains in this state are. Many of the teams discussed are not even close to any mountains. Most of eastern Kentucky, which of course garners criticism from all people ignorant of our heritage and assets, is not in the mountains at all. However we are in the hills and they are very different from mountains. Hills are friendly looking, usually somewhat rounded mounds of earth. Mountains are like the Alps, the Rockies, etc. They are very tall and forbidding looking. I think Pike County and surrounding countryside are in the mountains.

And now, back to our main concern of basketball, Morgan County has one of the better defensive teams which was ever put together in such a small school, I think.........and I am sure there are others.

    Lighten up Frances.
