  1. well a few people have gave their prediction and I know it's way to soon to be doing this but here's how I think it might turn out for LC I hope it's A lot better then I am going to predict but here's my prediction for 06

    Aug - 25th @ Coal Grove (OH) W

    Sept- 1st Belfry L

    Sept- 8th @ Pike Co Centra W

    Sept- 15th Johnson Central L

    Oct - 13th @ Ashland L

    Oct - 20th @ Mason Co. L

    Oct - 27th Greenup Co. W

I really think it can be better then 6-4 but it will all come's down to how many kids comes out and plays next year it's really hard to play in 3-A with only 20 some varsity players . I realize that it could end up a lot worse then 6-4 but I am thinking around a 500 season but I am hopping for a lot better .Go DAWGS

Why would only 20 some varsity players? Are you just talking about Juniors and Seniors or is alot of players who played last year not coming out this year?

  2. Aug - 18th @ Sheldon Clark Win

Aug - 25th @ Coal Grove (OH) Win

    Oct - 20th @ Mason Co. Loss

Oct - 27th Greenup Co. Win

  3. CHCA lost in the Division V title game to Hamler Patrick Henry. I think the score was 42-30. Not bad for a school that has only been open for 10 years!

Yes that was the score but it was 28 - 0 early and CHCA had cut it to 35 - 30 in the 4th when PH held them to a 3 and out deep in their territory. And then PH scored the next drive to seal the win with about 2 minutes to go.

Plus it was freezing cold at the game. Just look at this pic of a CHCA player.

  4. I don't think they've lost them. Garry McPeek has coached Indoor Football in Lexington (I believe) for the last couple of seasons.

I know but only as an assistant, now he is Head Coach, which would seem to be almost like an office position along with football duties. I personally can't wait until Garry brings his team to Troy, Ohio which is not very far from me about 35 minutes away. I will make the short trip to go see him.

BTW, if Coach McPeek is reading this, sorry for beating you in fantasy this week but I needed this weeks win to keep my playoff hopes alive. :D

  5. Russell had a couple of former LC players help them prepare for OCath. Here is an excerpt from the Daily Independent.

"Russell's defense got a glimpse of what was ahead in practice this week when former UK receiver Gerad Parker and Alan Short visited one day.

Parker ran some of the routes that the Owensboro Catholic receivers were going to run against the Red Devils. He also brought along Alan Short, a former Lawrence County quarterback, to throw it to him." :thumb:

It is great to see all of East Kentucky get behind one team and cheer for them. This is what makes Kentucky High School football so special.

  6. D-V Patrick Henry Patriots 42 Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy 30

CHCA trailed only by 5 in the 4th quarter in this shootout when PH held them to an 3 and out , PH took 4 minutes off the clock in their final TD drive to seal the victory.

One side note so far in two Championship games:

    Public schools 2 , Private schools 0.

  7. D-III (15-0) Steubenville 28 (10-5) Columbus DeSales 7

This game was tied at the half 0-0. DeSales too many turnovers in the second half and inability to stop Steubenville QB who had over 150 yards rushing and 2 TDs. He had less than 400 yards rushing all season but had his biggest game today. DeSales which ends up 10 - 5, had to beat Ironton in the final week of the regular season just to get in the playoffs and beat them in the final minute of the game.

  8. I am going with the Tigers in the D-1 game

I am going with Columbus St. Francis DeSales in the D-2

I have to go with Hamler Patrick Henry in the D-5 game

In the D-6 game Delphos St. John should win by a few scores.

NCF, I second these games except for DeSales I think they will win D-III :D

    D-II Canfield

    D-IV Youngstown Mooney

  9. In what circle?

Hillard Davidson was an unbeaten DI school. Nine times out of 10 that makes for a pretty dang good football team this time of year. They weren't a huge favorite at all.

According to the TV stations here in Columbus, they kept saying HD wasn't supposed to be this close to St. X. They also said if Davidson would have won it would have been a huge upset. Remember St. X is nationally ranked #9 , Davidson the last I remember seeing the D-1 AP poll they were 5th or 6th.
