Yeah, we all know how slow Highlands is. :walk:Now, HHS' staff will know exactly where that FC receiver came from!!!Knowing where he came from and catching up with him are two entirely different stories.
I'll stick to my original prediction:
Franklin County 27
Highlands 20

Lamnuts54, it just seems to me you are really trying to play the "us against the world" card here. You claim that HHS and NKY have no respect for FC. I don't buy it. Highlands has respect for all teams they play, especially come playoff time. The fact is, if FC was a pushover they wouldn't have the record they have nor would they be playing in round two. So please put the disrespect thing to rest and just look forward to a great game Friday night.

From the looks of things Henry, your cooking hasn't disagreed with LN too often. :banana:Ok enough with blaming my cooking for you and LN having "that feeling" about these games. You know maybe Friday night you ate something that someone else made. Just because it was in my house doesn't mean I cooked it. You know Sara Lee and Oscar Meyer stop by once in awhile :creepy:j/k LN.

:thumb: Looking forward to a good hard fought battle.Fair enough. Again I expect this to be an outstanding game played by 2 very good football teams. This could very well be the best match up in 3A for the second round. Highlands is a tough place to play but FC seems to be ready for any team they play. Hope the weather is decent, froze my butt off the past 2 years. -
I've looked back at the posts in this thread made by Birds fans, I haven't seen one disrespect FC yet. Those who have predicted a HHS blowout victory are not Highlands fans.No team should but the attitude of some Northern Kentucky fans seem to be that teams from other areas of the Region don't stand a chance when they travel North. I hope the team is over confident because FC is a very solid ball club on both sides of the ball. FC is not the same team that Highlands has faced the past 2 years nor do I believe that Highlands is as good as years past. I truly think this will be an all out war and is a toss-up game. I respect the program and FC is out to earn the same respect. -
It's playoffs! Does any team more motivation than that?Just trying to help them look for motivation to play. -
Really?I think that HHS will expose the QB as not a true DIV. 1 Player. I have seen him play a handful of times and IMO he is not a Div. 1 Player?????HHS - 28

Maybe you should ask Louisville St. X fans what they think.

That would be my pick. Just plain wicked!!!Mike Mitchell. Right Rebels...

But Highlands won by 35, CCH won by 34.I guess your right. Didn't CovCath score like 37 against Dixie. HHS only scored 35. End of discussion. -
Some things have to be earned. Tradition doesn't happen over night. But where is the tradition in a school like Holy Cross, doesn't look like they have been around very long. -
Hit the nail right on the head. :thumb:Have you considered the benefits of coaching, tradition and community support? -
I always see it as an upset when they don't make it.I would say that Highlands has to be the favorite this year, and if they don't make it to the finals, an upset has occurred. -
So.....Who in AAA do you see as a dominate team/heavy favorite? That year was an upset as Rockcastle rose quickly. This year if wouldn't be such a shocker as I mentioned neither Highlands or CovCath is thought of as a dominate team/heavy favorite. -
If that's the case, you should spring for a nice FILLET MIGNON.If Boone gets to 31 you will find out. :thumb: -
Good point! Also don't forget that the AAA semifinals will be played in N. Ky will it not? Having that game at home is a huge advantage. How many times in the last 20 years has an eastern Kentucky school come up here and beaten a northern Kentucky AAA school in the semis? Not very often that's for sure. -
A - I say either would still go IMO. Too much talent to step in on both teams.Beechwood (injury to Muth and/or Sawyer) or NCC (injury to Diehl and/or Kiernan) and they suddenly become very beatable IMO.Why is this the year Lloyd gets over the hump? Has the defense improved that much from the 50 point running clock games of last year? Maybe, maybe not.
Class AAA does look wide open and therefore not really an upset if Highlands or CovCath get edged out by another good team.
Class AAAA although they all may be decent I can't see any of them playing in the final.
Possible?
AA - Nothing profound to back that up, just a feeling. (AA & AAAA are your best bet at being right)
AAA - I would never bet against Highlands or CovCath once it comes to playoffs. Two great programs year in and year out. I'm telling you, come playoff time, both teams will be much improved and one of them most likely a favorite to make it to the carpet.
AAAA - I won't argue because of what I posted earlier still stands as far as I'm concerned. Louisville is tough!
-
I'll throw in a nice bottle of wine.So what your saying is the top two teams, in each class, will be upset or not good enough to earn NKY a Finals appearance.Beechwood
NCC
LLoyd
Newport
Cov. Cath
Highlands
Dixie
Boone (or whoever the top two teams in 4A are.)
None of these will be there in the end? I'll give you a steak dinner if that one happens.
-
:thumb:That didn't hurt as much as I thought it would
-
I would have to say I like NKYs chances again this year. With Highlands, CovCath, Beechwood, NCC, and Lloyd, I'd say the odds are pretty good.
If you want to say Highlands is down, you'd pretty much have to say that about all of AAA this year. I just think it's early and the Birds as well as a few others in AAA are going to surprise a lot of people this year as we move towards district games.
Beechwood or NCC is almost an automatic IMO.
I think Lloyd has a shot this year of getting over the hump.
AAAA is just too tough when it comes to the big schools in Louisville, but if a team up here has any shot at all I think it will be Dixie.

Hope I didn't get out of hand or offend anyone with any of my comments. I know that I did start some threads that got out of hand, but my intention was not to insult anyone or start trouble, it was merely for debate. Either way, I will be sure to tone it down.

Don't know much about Bullitt East. Southwestern has a really good program and I met some really nice folks at the HHS game earlier this season, so.....
Go Warriors!
