I went to the game. They can’t even get enough fans in the stadium to give away all the bobble heads last night. The fans, the atmosphere, and most importantly the team is apathetic. It is bad!

Hank Aaron and Davey Johnson?
More recent teammates McGwire and Canseco?

One of my all-time Cowboy favorites! I have been a Cowboy fan my entire life and a sports fan! Jason Witten is class personified. He was great on the field and off the field. He is what all athletes should be!

I know its just one but if you're gonna name trades, you gotta give the full picture.
Suarez for a washed up Simon was a great trade.

I am very disappointed in our manager, who was fired and also our front office. Let's be honest when you trade away quality major league players you have to get something in return. Look at some of the trades:
Jay Bruce - We got Dilson Herrara and who? NOTHING!
Johnny Cueto - Brandon Finnegan, John Lamb, Cody Reed - They have not produced
Brandon Phillips - Nothing
Aroldis Chapman - Nothing being produced in majors
Todd Frazier - Scott Schebler and Jose Peraza (Ok Trade)
Mike Leake - Adam Duvall
We did not get individuals that have helped the organization.
When we went out and got players to help us in 2010-2013 look at who we gave up. Players that have played well at the major league level:
Didi Gregorious
Yonder Alonzo
Yasmani Grandal
Brad Boxberger
We gave up quality prospects in trades when we got players that could help. I don't think we have gotten quality prospects back in our trades lately.

It’s hard telling. Some of our better prospects during the 2015 season have already failed to live up to the hype. Position player wise isn’t far off from where we are. We had a surplus of young pitching prospects many of which haven’t reached the majors yet or haven’t had more than a cup of coffee in the majors.
Peraza and Suarez were acquired in trades.

The bigger question is how does this impact student athletes? In the state of Ky there are several NAIA Div 1 schools. They will all lose scholarships from 11-8. This will reduce the number of players getting scholarships each year.

Congratulations Coach Simpson! He was my first High School Coach. He was my freshman coach in 1985-86 season. He has come so far since then. When I played for him, he told us we were not allowed to shoot anything but elbow shots and FTS! He has changed a lot! He is a great man and a great coach. He also had great influence on my brother who played for him. I am happy for him and his family! He has done a great job in his career as a coach, teacher, and mentor! Many lives affected in a very positive way! Great job coach!!!!

I agree. I was a boys head coach and had an All State Honorable Mention Guard that shot lights out at the tryout and should have made the team and didn’t. He shot better than anybody in the gym that day and it didn’t matter. Would have saved everyone’s time if they just pick team.
-
When half the kids that would easily make this team no show tryouts or say they have no interest in them playing what are you supposed to do??
Most of these players have never had to tryout for anything, they have always made the teams they have played for. Why risk someone telling you that you aren’t good enough. Also, they think what do I get out of playing in this game? No exposure benefits?
These are just things I am sure they think.

I am beginning to think that Price wants fired too. Some of the moves just do not make any sense at all.

The cost of college at all levels is causing less students to attend the traditional 4 year university. They have made dorms so nice it is better than most apartments and they charge for it too!
-
Yes they are brothers. I believe their dad was a head coach in Ohio and is retired now.

Winker needs to stay in the leadoff spot. Do they even let Gallardo make the trip back to Cincinnati?
He is done!

The Astros do not win it if they don’t take on Verlander’s contract last year in mid season. They will have to blow up the team in 3-5 years because of salaries. As a fan that sucks to know you can’t continue to root for those players on your team but for a short time. If costs are more controlled, the salaries would be more controlled and easier to keep a core of players together.
-
I agree that there needs to be a salary cap. The inequities in team salaries let’s half the fan bases know that their team has no chance each year.
-
I don’t think it will effect Brannen’s resume at all. I think this is just the world we live in now. 20 years ago it would have been a red flag not today!
-
I wouldn’t quit watching baseball because 2 elementary students of a choir kneeled while they were signing. There is a good chance that no one from Seattle or MLB knew that they would do that.

Congratulations to Coach Hibbard and to Louisville Christian Academy.

Congratulations Coach Carr!

Are you interested ?
I would love the opportunity to coach Holmes. My wife might tell me otherwise though. 2 children in college and a 3rd on her way in 2 years. Not sure I can afford a pay cut. I think it is a great job though! I think it is one of the top jobs in NKY if handled correctly.

Does anyone think that St Louis paid Jockety to screw our franchise up?
