  1. This is an interesting comment it that I find it ironic you would say this, yet Republicans consider themselves to be the standard-bearer in terms of patriotism. Kind of a contradiction, yes?

Here's one we can add: Republicans love to wave the flag and talk about their dedication to the USA, but see no problem when one of their compatriots decides to take his business out of the country to save a few bucks, rather than doing what's right for the country as a whole and sticking it out in the US.

While most Americans would probably consider themselves patriots, I feel that most would put their families in front of the country. I may be wrong on this though.

If you had a business would your main goal be to make money or do "what's right for the country"? While saving a few bucks may not mean much to you, someone who owns a business it is the most important thing.

  2. How presumptious! You can't say someone is WRONG in this.

You paint everyone with a pretty broad brush. Many living in poverty are CHILDREN!

You are a snob. Not everyone is poor because of a poor choice. You need to get out among the poor you claim to have spawned from and hear their stories and see their struggles.

So you're a proponent, then, of an aristocracy. Basically that's what you have in your comment above. You have a class system, and in those classes, wealthy people control the wealth of everyone else.

Yeah, like working 2 or 3 jobs, raising kids, etc.

The lowest cost foods are high in fat, calories, and preservatives. For a family of 4 living on $21K or less you have grocery decisions that include processed foods, meats higher in fat, and boxed and canned foods full of preservatives. Hamburger Helper goes a lot further than Filet Mignon. Fresh vegetables and fruits are out of the budget for many, if not most. Lean cuts of beef? Forget it!

You need to get off your high horse or go live in Cuba with all your riches.

Do you have any solutions to offer?

  3. Some of the replies in this thread condemning Democrats for wanting a bad result are just downright insane!

NO ONE wants a bad result in Iraq, nor for our troops. You're picking and manipulating, and labeling based on misleading information. You try to point the finger at Democrats or Liberals as being media puppets.

Face it. There have been, are, and will continue to be, people who OPPOSE what's happened in Iraq, why we went there, the course of action throughout the time there, and the indecision of the future plans. That doesn't make one unpatriotic.

I love it when people decide that disagreement with this insanity indicates a lack of patriotism on the part of the person disagreeing.

So if the situation in Iraq the democrats would be excited about it? I highly doubt that. Both parties are completely power hungry. (some worse than others) If the situation were reversed the results would be nearly identical.

  4. Champ has worked hard to rebuild BS. They have a top team coming back. He has started a nice tournament. The KABC needs to step up. Coaches in this state have no representation. Teacher unions will not do anything for coaches. They will protect terrible teachers but not good coaches. Coaches can be fired for no reason at all and there is little they can do about it.The KABC needs to take the lead and start a coaches union in this state. BTW, Louisville Valley fired longtime coach Freddy Copass last week after 37 years of service to that school. The new principal walked in said, "your services is no longer needed here." No thank you for your time or good job, nothing.

You would seriously be in favor of a coaches union?
