  1. No, I believe all of Ohio's finals are held at Canton's Fawcett Stadium

    Close, but not quite right.

In Ohio, there are 6 Championship games. They are held at Canton Fawcett Stadium (home of the NFL Hall of Fame game every year) and Massillon's Paul Brown Tiger Stadium. Both of these stadiums have artificial turf and are less than 30 minutes away from each other. Fawcett is bigger and can hold roughly 25K people. PBTS holds around 10-15K.

The games are played on Friday and Saturday with the big school Division I final being the last game of the weekend at 8:00 PM on Saturday night.

As far as a Thursday final...that's just plain stupid. Why in the world would anyone want to play their state championship game on a Thursday? That makes zero sense. Unless someone can explain it to me.

The high school interview committee will not be answering questions about the interview process other than 19 applicants applied.

  3. Classy comments about a high school kid. I hope you feel great about yourself.

WOAH WOAH WOAH...hold on a minute. No need to :flame: me. That's not called for.

All I did was point out an obvious mistake in the game. There were 35K people there that saw the same thing I did and included in that number was Lemons himself.

If there is anything Coombs teaches his players, it's that they make mistakes. And in life, you are going to make mistakes. Lemons made a mistake. No big deal. It's a game. That's all it is. If it helps to make him a stronger person in his life, than it serverd it's purpose.

I mean, after all, isn't that why "h.s.sportsrbest"? Because they teach us life lessons while playing a game that 10 years from now, no one is going to remember?

Calm down big fella. I meant no disrespect.

  4. Where are the Birds by the way??

    They always play at PBS.

My sources say Colerain politely backed out of this event. Also no Elder.

Colerain is looking for HOME games as the grand total of 3 this year really hurt the athletic department budget. The chance to play on National TV against Tyler Lee (TX) was too good an opportunity to pass up.

Looks like a few good games. Hope it all goes well.

  5. Clifford made a mistake at the end and failed to cover #8. If only the Cards could toss the pigskin once in a while. It's hard to believe those guys are only HS'ers, serious speed on both sides of the ball.

    Completely incorrect.

Clifford made the right read. He broke to cover the TE, as he should. Unfortunately, the achilles heel of the Cards D this year is the other corner, Henry Lemmons (#2). For some reason, he ALSO broke in and completely left Darius Ashley wide open. If he doesn't have a mental breakdown there, we might still be playing today.

Overall, it WAS a great game. While I am not at all happy about the outcome, it was something to see. If St. Xavier does end up winning the whole thing, it will be the 4th time in 6 years that Colerain has lost to the eventual state champion in the playoffs. Point margins in those games: 3 in '00, 7 in '02, 1 in '03 & 3 in '05.

4 losses by 14 pts to eventual State Champions. And people want to change the offense?
