  1. The difference in their matchup last time was Metcalfe's inability to move the ball what-so-ever. For the most part, Mayfield had a tough time moving the ball on Metcalfe as well.

I know it is two totally different teams but I feel it could be a similar story this season. I am interested to see how well Metcalfe can do defensively.

    Mayfield 21

    Metcalfe 6

  2. If they indeed did this, that's totally classless, imo...Murrays defense is pretty weak this year, but, i thought they would score a little more myself...Sounds like MC has a pretty good D..We'll see what there all about next week..Should be a good one..
I was not at the game, I was just listening on the radio; from the prespectives of the announcers it was with full intent of getting the ball back. I am holding out hope it was just a severly muffed kick. They also said, after they scored, it appeared they were going to try it again but kicked it deep. As I said, this is all from the radio announcers, not a first hand account.
  3. a #4 seed getting to the Regional final game is very impressive. It makes you wonder how they were a 4 seed to begin with? I mean where they hampered with injuries early in the season or is just everything clicking right now.
Their district top to bottom was pretty even and District 2, I felt was not as strong.
  4. Final.

A little suprised by the margin.. I thought Murray would be able to score a little more than they did. Biggest mystery is why Metcalfe attempted an onside kick when up by 39 points in the 4th quarter to take it down and score again?

Metcalfe heads to Mayfield next weekend to set up a rematch of the regional final 2 seasons ago.

  5. It is really an unfortunate situation for both sides.

The main problem is within the fact that Kentucky is not that big of a state (population wise). Disparities between private and public schools are going to be, and continue to be displayed (especially among T and X). But, as someone already mentioned, there is nothing that can be done and our population base does not support any of these proposed ideas, imo.

It is not very sensible to argue that schools need to "work harder" to beat these schools and "since they are not far off in school population" the playing field will be equal on the gridiron. You are kidding yourself if you think this. I support schools such as Trinity, St. Xavier, or any other magnet institution because of the opportunities they present for kids, as should everyone else. If Kentucky was blessed with about 30 more of these schools across the state, then we may have something to go on, but at this time, it has very little merit.
