Why can't we name the school?

No coincidence that Holmes only had 2 TOs and decreased the deficit. They are shooting fairly well if they get the chance. LC has done a nice job keeping Holmes off the offensive boards which is where Holmes thrives.

What is the relationship between Jackson and Euton? Why is it assumed that Jackson will transfer now that Euton has?

Coach Henley needs to remind the boys that LC had a huge lead (approaching 20) on CCH and CCH came back.

I'm pretty sure UK just got ate up by a pair of sub 6 foot guards. With his ability and a good coach he could very well be developed . For examlpe a guy by the name of Roy Hibbert could not dunk in high school he had a coach develop his skills and now look him. Shooting is not a skill that you are born with it is a technique that you learn as well as ball handling. So why couldn't a kid with his skills be develop into the player the coaches want, it happens all the time in other conferences.

Coaches take chances on 7 footers like Hibbert.

BTW hate it when the announcers call LexCath "Catholic", but have to call Holmes "Cov Holmes". There are far more "Catholic Highs School" in the Commonwealth than there are "Holmes High Schools" in the Commonwealth

You see that a lot when there is only one Catholic school in an area. I'm pretty sure that the folks in Knoxville call their one Catholic high school "Catholic" as well. Heck, even LexCath fans call themselves "Catholic."

Someone tried to tell me 500,000 for one of the places that I was talking about previously ... The boosters at said school dropped 25,000 to 30,000 last year just to recrown the field .....

The only downside I could see would be injury. And that can happen in ANY game...it's just when your playing a team that has separate teams for O-D and every special team versus a team that has 4-5 guys going both ways.

Right. Injuries can happen in any game on any sort of freak play so why not go ahead and play big games in big venues? CCH platoons for the most part as well.

Being a Highlands fan, I hate to see CovCath scheduling GCL/L'Ville teams. It just proves they picked up the clue phone and are bettering their program! .

CCH has been doing this for quite a while. It seems like they've played a GCL team every year for about 6 or 7 years.

I was actually sold on Holmes beating LexCath. But then today they did not play up and down much against Paintsville until late in the game. I believe if Holmes would press and get after LexCath they would beat them. But if they play a half court game and don't play at a fast pace for the most part, LexCath may beat them.

 

That being said I am still going wtih Holmes.

Holmes has not been a running team this year in the games I've seen.

I assume we won't be able to see it up this way.

In reading the game threads for today's lex Cath game, The Knights were getting tired because of their lack of depth. With Holmes' bench, that could give the Bulldogs the advantage. Keep it going, Bulldogs.

I didn't see any indication of fatigue on LC's part.

I've never had a problem with the level of talent CCH schedules and I dont understand how it could be a problem. Anyone that thinks CCH hasn't been able to compete has not been watching. CCH has not been overmatched since the 2003 seasona against Elder.

I love their scheduling. I can't standing watching mismatches. As a fan and/or a parent of a player, I'd rather watch them go up against Cincy X/Louisville X/Elder/Moe/LaSalle than against poor NKY teams. I can't imagine being a BW fan with half of your season simply being no contests.

What am I missing? What's the downside to a tough schedule?

I think this is the game where Holmes' offense causes them to lose.

We should also give a "shout out" to the PHS pep band. That was a unique pep band with all of the precussions, no horns, and a couple of xylophones. I heard Soulja Boy, Bob Marley, and others. Very entertaining.

We should give some credit to the PHS boys. They basically played 5 players the entire game and they do not play a slow-down game. Those boys were in shape.

You can look at some of the players on last years team. However I was wrong to say they played dirty, because they never played dirty on the court.

 

I will admit I was wrong in saying they have a reputation for being dirty, I didn't mean it like that. Because on the court they don't play dirty, and I have never heard anything like that. So I really didn't mean that. I meant to talk about how Holmes usually does have disicipline problems, and usually just dont play as a team. Which usually stops them from being a great team usually. So I wish I could reword what I said, because it didn't come out at all like I meant it. Holmes is usually IMO the most talented team in the 9th, but just never can put it all together for reasons I have said. That is why I really do love this team because how well they play together and just the great chemistry they have. They aren't selfish, and just do the right things on the court.

Last year's senior class has apparently caused all of the previous teams to be labeled as "thugs." Not true.
