Let me clarify about my description of the CC QB as being an average runner. This is based on just the game on Saturday against HC. He didn't appear to have breakaway speed and really didn't hurt a pretty average HC defense through running the ball. Certainly CC has played great competition through his career and if he has put up outstanding running numbers, I stand corrected. It was just my observation that he doesn't appear to be a running QB that opposition defenses have to game-plan around. In my estimation, both Ammons and Burke are much more dangerous runners than the CC QB...that's all I'm saying...not trying to bash the kid at all.

After having seen both CC and LC play Harrison County, I must agree with Hilltopper. LC's defense is not nearly as strong as CC's, so this game will come down to a battle of offenses, and there is no doubt that the Knights are much more potent than the Colonels. The CC quarterback is a very good high school thrower and an average runner at best. Burke at LC is a bona fide D1 blue chipper, and he has excellent talent at the wide receiver position. Just don't see this being closer than 2 tds....LC 35 CC 17.

Haven't seen Highlands play this year, but have been impressed over the years with the way Coch Mueller has adapted his offensive philosophy to the personnel he has....which leads to the question....just what is the Birds offensive philosphy this year? Do they throw it often (ala Lorenzen and Giuduigli) or are they primarily a running team? If they are pretty predictable offensively, I believe FC has the players to line up and play against them. If they mix it up a lot and throw multiple formations and the line at the Flyers, then FC may have some trouble. I have been impressed with FC's defense in the games I have seen them play. And their offense has been routinely explosive against whoever they have played. I believe that FC is a client of Tony Franklin and his version of the Hal Mumme offensive attack aren't they?

The region seems to always go through Harrison Co. Next year will be no exception as they will have a lot of kids back. Pitching probably won't be as strong, but Mac will find somebody to chuck the old horsehide.
