You had Gregory last year and lost by 4 TD’s. Losing Gregory didn’t cause your o-line to get lit up like a Christmas tree. Losing Gregory didn’t cause your team to commit seven late hit, personal foul, and unsportsmanlike penalties. Losing Gregory didn’t cause your defense’s absolute helplessness to stop Shannon Tonge. I swear if I had a nickel for every time you E-Town people had some excuse for why they lost I could retire to the Bahamas.

Bardstown beat a team full of Etown Jrs with limited varsity experience with a 5th yr Sr QB, Center and other 5th yrs.

Funny for you to say that Bardstown didn’t run all their stuff. I watched the Greenwood game and it was the same plays.

Etown gave you the ball at the 18 the first play of the game and it took 7 plays for you to score finally off a 4th down pass. That wouldn’t have been a fumble if Gregory was  in the game. It happened because the inexperienced QB turned wrong on the play.

The next score came from another turnover when Etown was in the Redzone and another kid who never plays QB throws the ball up in air for a pic.

Last score was gifted to you with 65 yds in penalties and then your receiver getting to play arena football and run towards the LOS before the snap.

And as far as the line play it’s easy for the line to look like they are getting “lit up” as you said when the defense can load the box and bring the house because there’s no credible threat to throw the football.

In Elizabethtown‘s case, I think it is the latter. As I said in the thread leading up to the game, this game has become a very bitter rivalry for the past several seasons since we were placed in the same district. In 2018 there was a full-on player brawl at our place near the end of the game, with the Panther coaching staff leaving the sideline to get involved in the brawl, and then engaging the Tiger crowd as they left the field. In 2019, they beat us in the rain at their place and their current head coach crossed the field to mock our fans. We then throttled them in the playoffs that year, and a resultant fight took place between students postgame. Last year, we embarrassed them on their home field. There was a lot of social media chatter in the week leading up to the game that I can’t discuss. The Bardstown student Pep Section dressed in boxing gear in response to the online “chatter.” Elizabethtown also has a transfer player with a checkered history involving Bardstown that is still fresh. I actually thought the penalties being all their was was mild from what was expected.

This is quite the hilarious take on the events you mention. 2018 as Etown was drubbing Bardstown on their field into the final seconds there was a brawl in the endzone involving the players. At the time, there was no fence around the football field there. A large portion of Bardstowns fans stood on the track during the game.

As the player scuffle ensued, the Bardstown fans/parents came onto the field and started putting hands onto the Etown players. Everyone of them should have been arrested but the fine police officers there stood and watched.

I’ve never been around a more disrespectful group of fans than Bardstown. The way they talk to teenage kids from opposing teams is embarrassing. Even in defeat they don’t shut up.

In the 2021 region bball championship at Central Hardin as Etown finished off Bardstown, the Btown players came up from behind a couple of our players and shoved them starting a fight.

But keep believing the Bardstown players are choir boys. There were 5 unsportsmanlike on Etown. 1-2 were late hits and deserving of penalties. The others were from apparent “talking” but funny that those only happened to Etown.

Yes, Bardstown came to Etown and won big last year. WITH A 5TH YR SR QB, Center and others. Be proud of that since you guys were the odds on favorite to win the whole thing and went and crapped the bed against Glasgow.

  4. Bardstown shouldn’t feel too good about this win. With Gregory out the offense for Etown couldn’t get things going. They played 3 different kids at QB.

4 turnovers as well. 1st score was after Etown fumbled on the 1st play and gave the ball to Bardstown at the 18. Last score was BS and should have been blown dead because the receiver was running towards the LOS at the snap.
