You mean Danville is going to finally play Boyle again after taking 2 season off from them?

His sister, (Great Basketball player) as you put it "Relocated" to Elizabethtown, and I'd go out on a limb and say he will follow suit or go to a very similar situation. This is a no question about it move for sports and his want to be in a system that fits his skill set. Right, wrong, or however you see it, this one is about sports and purely sports.
I always look at it like this, if coaches can move around to "better their careers" I'm all good with a kid transferring to a place where they think they will have a better opportunity as well.

I heard 12-15 applicants. Due process is taking place. No real reason to be hearing much yet.
I figured that was the case but haven't heard any names specifically. I guess it's really not my business either LOL.

Will he bring with him C. Boley?
I doubt the QB is at Lincoln or LaRue next season..

Any more word of candidates for this job? It seems surprisingly quiet...

The hire is made. I guess the logistics have delayed the announcement.
The hire is made as in there is a hire and waiting for an announcement? Or the hire is made as in they have offered the position and are awaiting a response?

David has left the program in great shape but, other than that, I’d like to hear the reasons behind your opinion that it is a better job than both Garrard and Lincoln.
Thanks.
In the last 5 seasons:
Mercer is 36-21/Lincoln is 24-32/Garrard is 17-33
The difference in facilities is another reason. Having an indoor space and weight room is hard to compete with. It also seems like to me, and I could be wrong, that the little league and MS programs have been more stable.

Wow, this is great. I'm confused on how they will pay for all this thought. That's a lot of money.
I thought that same thing. Where is all that money coming from..

I figured this thread would blow up with responses. Been pretty quiet...IMO mercer is a better job than both Garrard and Lincoln...

I've heard of one assistant at an area school who has applied. Any names from you guys?
Who is the name from your source?

Something to think about:
"Supposedly" a candidate was offered the job this week. It's Thursday, and there is yet to be an announcement. That could mean it was turned down?
There is now a shift in who is running the weight program. Does this indicate Rogers has moved on?
Say the job is still not filled by the weekend, it appears as if the process isn't over. So where will Lincoln go next? This thing is just now heating up.
This sounds like the epic ending of an old batman episode LOL!

Won’t be any egg on my face!! I think it’s great either way! I personally don’t think it’s a good job is what I mean by Ins and outs…. As well under that would be facilities, decreasing numbers, sharing kids with multiple sports and while In season. The fact that they ran off last coach who was winningest coach in school history. I think local folks know a lot more about those things and what your up against to have long term success.
Do the football players playing baseball and basketball not lift or do anything during the football off-season?
-
Shutting down the weight room is unfortunate. I made a post earlier in this forum talking about how getting behind in the off-season will cost you in the regular season..looks like the ball has been dropped in that aspect especially if the weight room will remain closed until the hire is made. If Rogers didn't get an interview that is very sad news.
-
Any chance the reason they haven't announced yet is because they have been turned down by their top picks?

Keeping the kids interested and buy into the new system. The community needs to support whoever they hire and keep the wheels rolling. As of right now I know of 2 kids that are transferring from LC to north on 27. Hopefully they can turn it around quick in Stanford because I know some that are losing patience.
Are these two kids big pieces of the team? I hate seeing a coach come in, the community place unrealistic expectations on the season, and the coach being ran off due to those expectations.
-
What are the expectations from the community for the up-coming seasons? Between these 4 listed, what would be considered a "good first year?"

I think he was very underutilized at Corbin after his sophomore year. I do think though that EKU is a much better fit than UK.

Jaggers is the top choice. In my opinion, If they can’t make that work, I really feel Rogers will be the next head coach. Just my opinion.
How long should they wait for an answer from him before they offer someone else if he is the top choice?

I don't see that being the case if Rogers or Cooper are hired. I think both will stay as long as they are allowed. That's what I'm being told.
Will the administration allow someone to stay that long? Coaching is a production based world..

What we like to call when you transfer to Boyle county! Buying a championship.
Well, you do have to pay a price to win a championship...the price is called hard work.

@EagleRare20 Probably 3 or 4 times a week I'll see one of your posts and think, "There's a dude that needs the Eagle Rare logo as his profile picture."
Might just have to change it.

It's a mixture of both, IMO.
It's my understanding there have been opportunities to upgrade facilities with possible donors, but those opportunities have fallen through for one reason or another.
Can they not get some of that Buffalo Trace money?! LOL. If they were willing to donate and revamp I'd name the field after them!

The facilities are an embarrassment, to be blunt.
There has definitely been some good elbow grease put in by folks in and around the program, but both field houses should be demolished and rebuilt new.
I would be curious if that is a money issue or a lack of attention to detail by those making the decisions.
