Green County vs. Taylor County is a good water level marker.

Green County needs to be able to win this one comfortably to validate they are a player.

if LCA polishes off CAL and Beechwood loses I think it will be hard to ignore LCA's resume. This would be a 6A loss for each team but LCA's wins to date would be more impressive. If Beechwood wins they stay #1. To me Madison Central and Simon Kenton are comparable teams.

Walton-Verona needs to have a good showing, not overly impressed with their three wins at all.

Absolutely. Green could use this win. I'm anxious to see how good this team is when they peak

  2. Appreciate your opinion on the game but we will have to agree to disagree. Smith can be a difference maker as far as making it a close game. But he isn't to the caliber to make it close plus two or three touchdown for Taylor Co. However proof is there showing it makes Taylor 2 or 3 touchdowns behind if he dosent play.

Green probably is a top team with the most tanleted players in our area. Them finding there identity on defense and how long it takes will be key. The low amount of players avalible is up from last year but far less then most teams we will play.

I’m not sure Smith is good enough to make a 4 touchdown difference but I do agree with him it will probably be fairly close but without him Green probably wins by a couple scores.

Green is struggling finding identity on defense. Smith is a special kid may be a little far fetched on 4 score difference but I do believe he makes taylor county a two to three score better team.

  4. Hart County football facebook page this week claimed they was on a revenge tour. They came into Dragon Stadium 2-0 with there confidence running high.

Green Co came in with a 1-0 record with a close win at Nelson Co. They have been trying a new look on offense since week 1. There defense looked unpolished and needed work. The push up front on the offensive line was not there in week 1.

Hart gets down by two touchdowns on two long Jullian Seymour runs in the third quarter. Hart comes back with some big stops to tie the game. Big stop on 4th down in redzone for Hart which was helped by a flag for block in the back on a first down catch for Green. Hart ends up taking it for a touch down and two point conversion.  Score 28 to 20

Hodges sophomore QB looked good. He had a few mental mistakes throwing for two INT which is expected of a new QB.  He had quiet a few yards in the air.  Seymour looks like a totally diffrent back out there. This kid is special. Ferguson was a beast on both side of the ball.

Yeah this is a very old rivalry that goes back to the old Tompkinsville days. Monroe has had a lot of good competitive teams even winning the region 3 years in a row a few years back. That being said Monroe has been on a 5 or 6 year skid of some of their worst teams ever. I know Monroe would like to continue to play Glasgow and Allen because of the rivalry with these two teams but it might be time they back off and try to schedule some more competitive teams.

Your correct. If I were glasgow I would find a team that would pad my RPI a little then a team of that source. But look at metcalfe in the 90s early 2000 nobody wanted to play them because of the down years.

  6. Hart co Running duo of Crump and Bradley can be pretty Dangerous. Shoulders can really get after it on Deffense. They have had some pretty big margin of victories so far this year. They come in off a 2 game winning streak and confident is running high.

Green comes off a tough road win. They must rebound from the mental mistakes and turn over they had friday night. There Duo Houchens and Seymour probably the most dangerous duo in the state looks to rebound from a quiet first game on the ground. Hodges Soph QB looks to build from a 8 for 9 on passing 135 yards and 2 TD if this kid can build his confidence he could be lethal. I'm sure phelps is gonna have them working on that shakydefense.

I'm gonna take green in this one. 42 to 28

  7. Metcalfe has some special kids. There line is big. Returning District POY Luke Meadows. There passing isn't as elite as the previous years, but still very dangerous. Running the ball behind Anderson and bransetter.

Campbellsville they have an all around athletic team. The new look as above is working out very nice. The QB has put in alot of work in the off-season. I think this team can do big things this year.

I'm gonna go with Campbellsville on the big win.

    Campbellsville 28

    Metcalfe 21

  8. From what I have heard the line was much improved. Nelson co will more then likely make some noise. Houchens is a great player but I'm not sold as far as the best. Seymour Ferguson and McKinney all possess the same elite skills. Green co is one of the most tanleted teams that I can remember. The Houchens Hit and they seymour fumble recovery for TD is what ended up being one of the most important plays. Seymour looked more dominant running the ball. McKinney also had a TD reception. Green looked good on offense and had trouble with the stud FB.  Tonight was a learning point on Greens young Qb. Great game though

Both QB’s are guys that I’ve worked with. Solid young men that work. Excellent leaders for their teams. Effective QB’s that get the job done for their teams.

Both coaches have their teams/programs improving.

Regardless of the outcome, both teams have bright futures.

Hope the guys all play well & come out healthy.

You have done a great job around the state. What you teach is something a lot of staffs needs. Keep up the great work and keep inspiring these awesome athletes.

  10. Dragons by as many as they want.  Dragon offense looks to be improved 50%. As long as everyone is healthy they shouldn't have any problems. They couldn't stop the running attack last year in the 40 to 0 loss to the dragons. Seymour had close to 200 yards on the ground. Defensively I think they will do great. There fast backfield should be able to keep there offense in check. Staying healthy will be the key for Green.
