Gotta go with Murray here... they have owned the series as of late! 😆

This is likely who the McCracken program will be for a while. The numbers at feeder levels have dropped, the HC has been rumored to be looking for jobs the past 2-3 off seasons according to parents.
It was not long ago that this program has never lost a district game in their short history. Now they are a distant 4th.
Needs a restart imo.

Thanks for pointing that out, 76 is a lot of points.
7 points too many to be exact!

I like PT next week against UnIon.

Do schools still have grass fields?

Having a complete season with fans has to be #1. I know some games were missed but it still feels good to see the kids and fans out on Friday nights again.

My son and I were talking tonight about all 6 classes heading into the playoffs. We agreed for the most part on what I'm writing. This is who we like.
A. Pikeville takes it. Maybe with ease.
AA. LCA or Beechwood. Any reason to think anyone else makes a charge? I don't think so.
AAA. Does Glasgow, Bardstown or Mercer Co. give CAL a challenge? My guess is they all would fall a little short.
AAAA. I think it's a 4 horse race between Boyle, Corbin, Johnson Central and Franklin Co. I like Boyle or Corbin out of the four and now starting to think Boyle might take it. But any of these four could win it with two really good games in round 4 and 5.
AAAAA. Your guess is as good as ours. Woodford Co., FD, Owensboro, Cov. Cath, Southwestern, or South Warren. 6 teams and I think it's wide open. I would lean towards South Warren or maybe Owensboro. With Southwestern with an outside shot.
AAAAAA. The usual suspects. Male, St. X or maybe Trinity. My son and I both like St. X to take Male in the playoffs.
I like it.
1A- Pikeville
2A- LCA
3A- CAL
4A- Boyle
5A- South Warren
6A- Trinity

Is the ship righted for the playoffs?

Whats going on? A fifth year team lost to a team that's been successful since at least the year 2000. Our inaugural year we got blasted by an undefeated state champion in Danville, and lost to the region football bully TTUN twice. 2nd year, beat em regular season, then we lost by 1 to them in the playoffs, haven't lost to them since.
Lost in the state finals by a touchdown to CovCath.
Lost by 2 to in the season opener to a North Hardin team that went 3rd round of playoffs, then lost in the 4th round by one to Owensboro.
Where is the underachievement? Someone please explain.
They have built a great program and the talent is unbelievable. I am judging from 200miles away but I do feel like they have lost in some meaningful prime time games.

Trinity will probably win the state title as usual.

Old enough to vote?
All those are now Freshman and Sophmores. If you go back and read my preseason synopsis of the team, this is no surprise. They always had potential, but everyone thought they were a year away for sure.
The "wait till these guys get to high school" talk has been going on since the current class was in 6th grade.
Hard to imagine any PT fan would feel like 4-6 meets expectations. Standards must have really dropped.
-
I would add--
Paducah Tilghman. Lots of hype for past 2-3 years around upcoming young talent that are now old enough to vote.
McCracken. Brought back key 5th year players to go with a nice true senior squad.
Christian Co. How does this happen?
Bowling Green. See Christian Co question.

What is going on at Douglass?
Last night was a horrendous display of football by the Broncos and generally speaking over the years the Frederick Douglass football program seems to underachieve.
So I will ask again, what is going on at Frederick Douglass?
Seems like a reasonable question...

You definitely can. I just watched it last week.
Of course that is the view from the winning side of the scoreboard.

Not possible to score 70pts with a running clock unless you are trying to score 70pts with a running clock.

Not as close as the score would indicate.

Do the Purples miss the coach on the other sideline?
-
From across the state this seems like a surprise score. Boyle winning is not a huge shock but the score...?
-
Could of used a few of those unavoidable 70pts from last week.

Do any historians know the last time a team has won two in a row a War Memorial? I’m guessing maybe Tilghman, but that may have been a long time ago.
My guess would be Danville. Last back-back for PT was prob '92 &'94.

This feels like a big game!
I will take Douglas. If they don't win I will take Boyle!

I really like Murray, and hope they get Mayfield again in the Playoffs, but not a single team in 2A ls on the level of Beechwood and LCA this year. I’ve watched both, and they are top 15 teams in the entire state of any class that I’ve seen.
I believe it.
