Not sure why you would put Highlands in front of Cooper. Highlands was very senior heavy this year and loses the majority of their starters. They do have a lot of younger talent coming up. However, with what they lost and with Cooper only losing 3 seniors that started on offense or defense. I just don’t see a reason why Highlands would be ranked ahead to start this year. I honestly probably would have Highlands at 5. I would have South Warren and Owensboro ahead of them too. As I think BG, Cooper, Owensboro, and South Warren would be the favorites and Highlands is the wild card. Just depend how quickly that great younger talent makes the jump to varsity play.

I’m a Highlands fan and this is a pretty solid take. Hopefully this young group coming up grows up fast.

I think the biggest factor for a comfortable game for the Birds is to win the turnover battle or just not lose the battle.  That is one of the Biggest if NOT the biggest factor how Cooper has won both of their last 2 games.  They were +4 against Southwestern (2 INTs/2 Fumble Recoveries) and +3 against Scott Co (2INTs and 1 Fumble Recovery).  Birds secure the ball be smart, we all good.  Put the ball on the ground or have errant passes, this could get interesting....

Also I think the Birds need be extra conservative. No cute trick plays are needed. Keep Benke at QB. Don’t throw the ball with RBs or WRs. Just run the ball down their throats. And use the short passes to Class and Surrey.

Current poll had Birds winning with 68%.

Reg season matchup finished with 75% going with the Birds…..

Why the dip? What has changed for the better for the Jags and what has gotten worse for the Birds?

I think the Birds are 5 Xs better then they were during the regular season…..Are the Jags 10Xs better???

I don’t know man. Cougs are red hot. I think it’s going to go down to the wire. Plus they did whatever they wanted on offense last time.

Whose going to have more yards:

    a) Giesler rushing

    b) Benke rushing

    c) Benke passing

    I’ll rank my prediction: I’m going A then C then B.

If I am Cooper I would go all in on stopping Benke running. So I think Cam will have a big day.  A.

The biggest question is what is Highlands going to do to slow down Coopers pass game?

    A) Apply more pressure

    B) Double WRs

    C) No change

Y'all think Highlands is bad, go over to the Ohio HS message board and look at the Massillon guys. LOL.

The Highlands derangement syndrome that some adults have is worse than Highlands fans. I mean it’s Highlands thread, there will be highlands fans on there talking. The audacity. It’s from the cemetery of football dreams Highlands put in its wake for like 30 years.

Amazing how that bandwagon fills up when the talent level improves isn't it Frank? The Birds line play is what separates them from the other teams. Really big and fairly quick and fast(big difference between the two for linemen). That guy they hired that left after that two day stint is having a nice year too.

So when the team is really good people believe they’re going win more? Weird.

I heard it was really bad and some Highlands parents are out of control at games.

Listen up Fort Thomas powers that be, the next time it happens, kick them out.

I go to most games and it’s pretty normal stuff. Never seen anything close to actual fighting or throwing things on the field level stuff ever. Might be some yelling at the refs for bad calls, but find me one stadium that doesn’t have that. Be weary about what you “hear”.

Southwestern has played some tough teams on their schedule like Ballard, South Warren, Belfry, and Franklin County. They only won one of those 4 games, but was right there in all of them. They are a very good team. They also made the state semi-finals last year, and was the team that knocked off Scott County after Scott County had beat Cooper and Highlands. So Southwestern is definitely not a team to overlook, and should be a good game.

Ok ok running clock was laying it on a bit thick. I’m just saying they aren’t ready for Alexander. He’s a matchup nightmare. Southwestern better score on most of their drives.
