Any thought of a Justin Mason resume popping up again in Alexandria. Son is a senior at Covcath and still lives in Alexandria. Long time name in Campbell county. Could pull some kids out of the CCHS to help Brossart on the field. Does have 3 girls left.

Call me crazy. If he would gain 30lbs he would be a killer OG in D1 program. Not a QB and not sure TE fits him either. Good for him though. Love seeing NKY kids get love.

Cooper should be in 3rd, they would beat Cov Cath.
Who did Cooper lose to this season?

Unfortunately I see 35-9 Elder.

Hearing a lot of good things already from the Dixie parents. Heard parent meeting went great as the new coach laid out his intentions to help these kids reach there goals after high school. That’s very important for parents and kids to hear. Definitely need a plan on how to achieve goals. It starts after freshman year. NKY football needs this type of football and competition.

Want wins in Campbell county? BW needs to fire and start over with complete staff. That’s how it needs to start.

Who on the Camels staff is likely to stay on board with Coach Weinrich?
If he was smart he would bring his own people. That has been the problem is the assistants have stayed the same, and so have the results.

I don't have first hand knowledge of who applied, but suspect the following CC teachers have:
Jeremiah Sowards: Current Freshman head coach, Head tennis coach
Russell Hardin: Varsity Defensive Coordinator, Head boys track coach
Kevin Noll: Previous Varsity assistant, 2nd year as Freshman Defensive coordinator
Matt Vonhondorf: Previous Varsity assistant, Long time Middle School Head coach
If Rick Honaker is not on the short list there is something wrong. Which would explain everything wrong with this football program. He can get kids from the halls to the field.

Hearing the freshman head coach (Jeremiah Sowards) is going to be the next head coach of the camels varsity team.
What’s his background? What about the guys that were mentioned before Wolfe that are in the building?

Dixie needs someone that's willing to invest in their feeder programs in order to grow the high school program. Being a 6A school, they haven't been able to field a full freshman squad in at least 5 years. Dixie Youth Colonels is finally in place with people running it for the right intentions. Sekowski is running a great program at TF, and he is visible at Dixie Youth games. The high school coach needs to be visible at the middle school and youth programs. It goes a long way with these kids seeing the high school coach watching them play and interacting with them.
High school coaches don’t feel the need to be attached to youth unless it’s Saturday morning outside of the own practice. Huge part of school program’s success but very few do it. Kids and parents notice, that’s why you see more kids moving around out of district.

When the kid's training begins at Cov Cath and no other Schools would think of it. The thought is a long term season. Pitzer is a concussion away from never playing again, sad to say. The freshman was fire vs Elder and issues with Zacc are present. I do like Zacc alone, by himself. As a kid and player he is a solid QB. Benke is a return possibility at WR from what I have heard.
I thought Roberts and Benke quit already. Then quit the 2 teams they left Covcath for. Wonder how the eligibility would work for them to comeback again.

Colonel fans, Colonel fans, Kernel fans! If we were up 2 tds on the Birds and had the ball with 90 secs left there's no way we wouldn't be going for the end zone and we'd all be loving it!
And our memories are so short, aren't they? We're complaining for a coach going for a 3 td advantage late in a playoff game when we've apparently all forgotten about that 2017 football season when CCH tried to and succeeded in putting a running clock on every team they played.
"We in here talkin bout practice?"
Covcath had no chance in this game. No one on the field wanted to have any part of 41. WC could have gave him the ball all game and he was getting 5-8 a carry. Covcath defense was on the field entirely to long. Offense just could not move the ball and the play calls were bland or ran wrong. Either way WC even with the mistakes had there way all game. Penalties or not. Did not matter. They were the better team all around except special teams.

@Voice of Reasonwhere is Beechwood on that list? CovCath played Beechwood.
Beechwood is beating every team on that list for sure.

I think by the end of the year, you could probably make a case for CCH as #2. They had so many key injuries, but got a little bit healthier after the Beechwood game which was Beechwood's closest game of the year. They also beat Ryle solidly in the last game who barely lost to Highlands a couple weeks before, and also pounded Campbell County. I know it's hypotheticals to say they would have beaten CC, and HHS fully healthy but they certainly finished the season strong with a few more of their key players who will be a big part of their varsity success the next 3 years.
Highlands would have won that game no question.

For a sophomore I thought he looked very talented.
He reminds me of Giovani Bernard.
What school do you think he might go to next? Hopefully he stays put but….

Front 5 for Covcath absolutely dominated highlands up front.

Total score won’t crack 21. Highlands was given a TD in the last game apparently so I am going with 10-7 CCH. Championships are won on Defense

This time of the year is exciting to me, watching how the teams have matured, seeing who is bringing it, who is coming to play each week and who will wind up in the end. My prediction in the end .... any of these 4 teams could beat anyone else on any given day, there is not one special stand out this year and HHS is peaking at the right time
Just curious what that means! (Peaking at the right time). Won 2 of last 7games. This class 5 A is wide open. Let’s keep in perspective what each team looks like each week. None of them look good. Cooper is more explosive than any of them. Covcath has only shown 5 plays it seems all year. Conner seems to be the worst of the 4. Highlands is the biggest wild card as they are still moving pieces around. Can’t wait for next 3 weeks.

What we are witnessing this season at covcath actually is remarkable. They are proving that without passing they can still win. Without changing the plays they can still win. At this point who even knows what is going on each Friday with the Colonels. I would said this. I feel bad for the team that Eddie pulls off the curtain on. It won’t be qb sneak after qb sneak. You guys don’t honestly think they are only practicing draw right. Sadly no one has stopped it yet after Cooper and highlands stacks the box. What we have seen is 3 qb’s multiple running backs, solid line play, tough defense and blank. You know the play and still pulling out W’s. Wait til they get to the second and third play sheet. Eddie is not a rookie and he has proven he is no dummy. Time will tell. Or, he is just getting to the end and playing to get to next year. As competitive as he is. I can’t wait til playoffs.

Is Garrett Benke no longer on the team? I thought he was our best receiver and I haven’t seen him out there at all the last few games. To say Highlands did not respect our passing game is putting it mildly.
Only played in 2 games according to the stat sheets. Looked on KHSAA and seems like he had about 20 catches in 2 years.

What a cheap shot that is.....to the players and the officials. Those guys attend training sessions, work lower level games, and give it their best shot. Trust me the money is secondary to the love of the game on the HS level.
Regardless they missed it. He was looking right at the play and missed it. No dig at an official. The white hat missed it. Could have dictated the game. Hats off to the officials but he missed it plain as day.

Mason has applied to New Cath when that was open a while back and also Campbell when that was open before Mike Wolfe. He would be a great fit as a head coach. Especially now learning from EE and Terry Brown.
