  1. 2023 was so close. Corbin is coming off of a 12-1 season where they went on the road in the 3rd round of the playoffs and lost to the eventual state champion Boyle County by a score of 21-14. Looking ahead for 2024, Corbin has some big shoes to fill as they graduate 18 seniors from last year's team. Corbin brings back 3 key players for 2024 season as QB Kade Elam is looking to add another stellar year to his resume. He will have 2 key offensive players back this season in Eli Pietrowski and Cam Estep. These are the 3 players to keep your eyes on for the Redhounds in 2024. Corbin has a host of Freshman and Sophomores that are looking to contribute for this coming season. Thoughts?

    Key Losses from 2023:

    Carter Stewart 1071 yards receiving

    Guy Bailey 766 yards rushing

Jared Smith and Jacob Smith "The Twins" who were a recking ball on defense.

Zander Curry, Mike Neal and Franklin West will all be missed.

    Key Returners for 2024:

Kade Elam 2443 yards passing and 27 touchdowns in the air and 267 yards rushing with 9 tds.

Cam Estep 242 yards rushing with 4 tds and 483 yards receiving and 6 tds.

Eli Pietrowski 272 yards receiving 3 tds.

Guys, Douglas is just not a very good team this year.. so not sure that game is a good comparison.

Speak for yourself. I would pick Frederick Douglass against any high school team in the state of Kentucky this year for the exception of a very few teams and they would be like Male, Boyle, St X, Trinity. Possibly LCA. To me those are the cream of the crop. I didn't pick Corbin to beat Frederick Douglass but they did it.  Freddy D is a good team, well coached and better than they get credit for.

  3. I believe when the dust settles Boyle County will emerge as the winner. I have got to see this Boyle team play a few times this season in person and the Frederick Douglass game was eye opening. This years Boyle team is better than last years version and that spells trouble for everyone else. This will be the biggest test yet for Boyle and Corbin. Good luck to both teams!

  4. Taylor County rolls into Round 2 of the playoffs after defeating Letcher County Central by a score of 50-13. They improve to 9-2 on the season. Corbin put away Wayne Count 63-0 last week in Round 1 of the playoffs and they are now 11-0 on the season and has only given up 1 touchdown under varsity play. The big question of the week is can Taylor County produce enough offense to upset Corbin on the road or will Corbin continue shutout there opponents or hold them to there seasons low. Who you got?

  5. Well time for Round 1 of the Playoffs and Corbin is playing a familiar opponent in Wayne County. It was always a tuff game when that game rolled around in the old District. Wayne County is currently (6-4) on the season. Corbin who is undefeated and sitting at 10-0. Wayne will be looking to solve the riddle of the Corbin defense and see if they can put points on the board to win this one. Corbin has cruised through the schedule and is looking to add another win and head deeper in the playoffs. Thoughts?
