Mark Browns run at JH was historic, he has to be on the list. Between a failed 2 point conversion vs St. X, hook and ladder vs BG and losing in a state championship game it is absolutely wild he did not get one championship while here.

Joe Washington at North Hardin would be in that book as well. Had a shot back in 04 vs. St. X in the qtrs. They were winning at the half, but couldn't handle the depth the 2nd half and ended up losing by 6-9 points or so. St. X ended up wining the semis and championship by a combined 90ish points. Safe to say, that quarterfinal game might've been the 2 best teams

  2. Wasn't at the game, nor have I seen them play in a while - but from what I understand, generally speaking, Holmes mostly has the style of players where they take too much of the previous game into consideration where they assume everything will happen similarly, and that the team will lay down. Same thing happened a few years ago with Scott. Blew them out in the regular season, then lost in the playoffs. Unfortunate loss really, with the seniors they had come back from last year.

    Did Holmes have players out?

I hear you but as a parent of two kids that went through school, the schools don't always get it right.  In other words, I always wanted to be the parent that supported the schools decisions until I experienced their incompetence.  Also, and I don't really want to get into it, when I was in law enforcement I was pretty much shocked at some of the things schools do behind the scenes.  Generally speaking schools have my vote of no confidence and I wish I didn't feel that way.

It's unfortunate you have no confidence in the schools handling of situations. Are you able/willing to give a general example of something that led to your diminished lack of trust?

Believe it or Not, he is WALKING for Senior Day .... someone backed down. IMO What is wrong with the Youth today, No One will Stand their Ground.

Really disappointed to hear this. Had to suspend some kids from participating in state competition for showing up to practice the day before late. Hated to do it, but had to send a message to the younger athletes that this behavior of doing what you want when you want to will not be tolerated. There was also a previous incident earlier in the season with one of the athletes that was taken into consideration.

Started going to games in elementary school and have been a fan ever since!

Wife hated football until our son started playing then in his sophomore year, she became locked in also. She loved it so much that she wouldn't sit with the other mothers, because they weren't paying as much attention to the games as she was.

Hope that happens for my wife and I lol we got some time before our boy is that age though haha

He's trending hard in the right direction, but he started out with a low profile. If he keeps up this pace, he'll get there eventually.

Agreed, JH had an underwhelming record last year, but if an outsider looks closer at the schedule, they'd see their record improved as the season went on...but to your point, I don't think Coach Preston had a bell cow last year, but he sure has stepped up to the plate this season. Curious to see if he gets any looks!

I am interested to hear the different ways programs around the state conduct their off season training programs. A few questions I have are below; anything you all can provide would be helpful! Thanks.

    1. When do you traditionally start organized training?

    2. Who runs your training program? Do you have a strength training coach? Do you hire it out to a third party? (If a 3rd party, what do you and your other staff members do during this time?)

    3. Who is expected to be at your training sessions? Are athletes who participate in other sports still expected to be there at certain times?

    4. What time of the day do you have your training? Are their options for players?

    5. How do you try to address nutrition? We all know how important this is

    1. When I was in school, we started weights/conditioning in February/March 3 times a week.

    2. One of our coaches ran it. He was a beast, got us right.

    3. All athletes who didn't do winter sports or spring were expected to be there if they wanted to be considered for starting positions/playing time. So as not to burn out. If a kid did winter sport, but no spring sport, coach wanted them to take 2 weeks off in between sports, to let them be a kid. I respected and appreciated that looking back.

    4. It was right after school, 3:30-4:30. M/W/Th

    5. Nutrition was talked about and suggested, but many of the students in my school weren't in family that coukd afford the most nutritional food with their families, so it was eat what you can to survive.

Etown with gimmicky Wing-T Ish scheme with some quicks. Missing our starting DE/ TE to mono crusher as well. Unwillingness to stay out of “tight” formations on D cost us. More 33 with nearly 7yds/ carry may have helped as well. Different game if zebras allow kids to play. If they punt deep in own territory up 26-20 after pick 6 and quick 3 and out, it’s a different ballgame. Especially with 33 unstoppable. My 30,000 ft view. HUDL doesn’t lie.

    But..... that’s 🏈!!

Kudos to 7. Played with him on Team KY. Big kid with live arm. Still like Ashland if can keep 3/22 inside the hashes.Force 7 to beat u. Out.

You sounds like a straight up hater lol give them their props and keep it moving. Any offense that moves the ball and wins is successful, all that matters in that regard. It's deceptive, not gimmicky. Gotta be disciplined to defend it.

    Absolute steal too.

Nothing negative intended to Tulane, just this kid is a bigger talent than his offer sheet.

My prediction is we see him grad transfer to a much bigger program down the road in a much bigger conference and play key minutes.

Think Mr. Lunz is going to have a fine college career.

I seem to agree, he certainly has the IQ to play in a P5, with the work ethic and body to match. I'd be surprised if he stayed there, also. A fine college career is indeed in his future
