First half running clock.
I have to agree 100%. I have seen Walton a lot over the years and this is first time I remember them being beaten the way they have this year. I hate to hear about the injuries that have happened because I was looking forward to this matchup this year.

Have to admit I was going off of last years Beechwood style of play. I don’t know much about Beechwood this year. I still think the Aces can play with just about anyone. Their quick hitting offense is hard to stop with a pretty good receiving group. The Carricos are some big boys who run hard and fly to the ball on defense. Whoever plays the aces better come ready cause Atwell is a PROBLEM. The Aces are a well oiled machine. Their only weakness is depth. The devils run game wore them down in the second half. But I imagine that’s the case for most 2A schools.
I can tell you what it’s going to be a crying shame the final 4 can’t be Mayfield, LCA, O Cath, and Beechwood because they are by far the 4 best teams in 2A. With LCA, Mayfield, and O Cath all being in the West Region only 2 will make it to the Semi’s.

Most definitely. Their run defense is great so I think they fare well against mayfield and Beechwood, but there defense is susceptible to a good passing attack so LCA might be slightly out of reach.
Beechwood this year is very different than in years past under their new head coach and are throwing it all over the field this year. Problem is Defense has been optional so they have also given up more points in 4 games this year than last year or the previous in 15 games those years.

Any idea how long he has been kicking? A kid that can kick from 35+ in close games, consistently, will get scholarship offers, a lot of them.
I believe he is a soccer player and has not kicked a football before this season.

Points given up WHOLE SEASON:
2023: 123 (thru 4 games)
2022: 117 (15 games)
2021: 104 (15 games)I have to laugh at this or it will make me cry.

I see this as the week that LCA overtakes Beechwood for that #1 spot in 2A. They went 3-1 and only played the #1 teams in 1A, 3A, 4A, and 5A. They found a defense according to tonight’s score and the offense is lethal as well. RPI is going to be a crazy one this year in 2A.

How about Beechwood’s Sophomore kicker Colson Lair who is also a first time football player this year kicking a 42 yard FG tonight. He did miss 1 XP which was his first of the year but holy cow what a leg he has. He even made a tackle on a kick off tonight. Props to that young man.

If they win 106-100 I’ll be quiet but this does not make December look promising.
Lol I agree December looks bleak with this defense. I would be a little more positive if they had shown any fight on the defensive side tonight but SK looked like a track team running around untouched for most of it in the 2nd half. I get Xavier went down on the first play of the 2nd half but you have to show some grit and make a stop at some point. Just unreal

Really, really good updates @BWTigers; thanks!
No problem was hard to keep up with SK moving so dang fast. I’m good at typing but not that good.

Coach Hart did a heck of a job coaching tonight…oh wait this is the football thread.
I get teams might have good players, but 48 and 54 in consecutive weeks is absolutely pathetic defensively. Might need to bleed the clock or something because Cov Cath will put up 60 with ease next week. Figure it out.
Uh Cov Cath may hang 100 on the Tigers next week.

Well the defense didn’t look any better but a win is a win. Credit to Simon Kenton’s offensive line they just pushed the Tigers all over the place. Clay Hayden is a dude and should be in the conversation for Mr. Football he leads all of Ky in TD passes and probably is a bunch ahead after tonight.

Incomplete pass and the game is over.
58-54 final -
Pass batted down so this should be last play.

3 secs put back on clock so 11 secs
