  1. Love to see Mallory Holbrook shooting the ball well. She may be the key to how far Campbell County goes. Clos, Stapleton and Schwarber are a fantastic first three options, but some good teams may find a way to limit them. If Mallory is a threat and can force teams to extend out to guard her, that will make a huge difference for the big three.

I agree 100%. Holbrook and Wells have to continue to score double figures every game. It keeps teams honest. They both played excellent last night.

  2. I'm curious how yall felt about Russell Westbrook winning NBA MVP last year. Because if you were ok with that... POY has to go to Clephane. She's been the most dominate individual, putting up ridiculous numbers... not just in scoring, but shooting %s too.

Do an exercise for the second... considering the CC v SHS game... imagine Clephane doesnt play tonight for Scott. Campbell maybe wins by 35+. If Clos doesnt play for Campbell... Campbell might still win. Take them both out of the game... Campbell wins in a blowout. That by itself tells you how it's no question... Anna Clephane.

And I say that with full knowledge (obviously) that Campbell is probably going to win tonight. So don't tackle me Camel nation...

I disagree with what you are saying in regards to which team would win without either of their players. Obviously Scott doesn’t have the talent overall that Campbell has so your comparison doesn’t make sense.

  3. Tongue or no tongue I was really thinking CC could make a run at a state championship. Honestly tho if you get beat by this years Highlands team you have little to no chance at a state championship.

Nobody knows who is going to win the state championship this year if they did then there would be no sense in playing it and just go ahead give the trophy to the winners. Lol. This whole thread has become a joke. For one to say that Campbell has no shot at winning state because they lose one game by 1 point in OT is just dumb. It’s high school basketball anything can happen. I think it did Campbell good to lose that game. It’s better to lose now then in the post season where it really counts. So basically what you are saying is if a team loses one game by 1 point to a team they shouldn’t lose to that the have no chance to win the state tourney. Well I guess Campbell should just forfeit the rest of the season according to you. Lol.

  4. Just to be clear. Are you saying that the officiating was poor overall or that all three officials intentionally called the game in Highlands favor?

I think the officiating was poor averalk but they definitely favored Highlands. Highlands coaches questioned every single call even when it was in their favor as to why one ref called it instead of another. I think their constant complaining and constant individual conversations with the refs affected the game for sure. Lady Camels have played the same aggressive defense every game this year and refs have been consistent with their calls. Yesterday was a totally different animal because the refs completely changed the way the Lady Camels has to defend. So yes I would say refs made the difference.

  5. I will give credit where credit is due and Highlands played a heck of a game last night. Highlands sat in a zone all night and executed their game plan well. However it was stated earlier in this thread that Campbell relies on turnovers to win and if a team has good ball handlers it makes it tough for Campbell to win then explain how Campbell beat male, montini Catholic, mount Notre Dame, and have Mercer county all they wanted the entire game when each one of those programs have D1 point guards and other d1 players as well. I don’t think anyone on here has said Campbell has the state title wrapped up or shirts printed anywhere. However I do think they have as much of shot to at a state run as any of the top ranked teams. I’m not sure why people are taking shots at the lady Camels all the time. Is it because they aren’t from the Louisville area and people thinks that makes them less superior. Last night was a different game. Clos sat most of first half in foul trouble, Schwarber sat most of second in foul trouble and then fouled out. Both played the same way defensively as they always do. if anything was less aggressive last night knowing how the calls were going to go. Neither Clos or Schwarber have really been in foul trouble all season until last night. Highlands won by 1 in overtime and Clos and Schwarber played half the game and Stapleton had an off shooting night with highlands shooting 31 free throws to Campbell shooting 7. I would say that is a huge difference as well. I do agree that someone else has got to step up on this team and start scoring. At the end of the day it is high school basketball and anything can happen and last night showed just that. Hats off to Highlands for playing a great basketball game and hopefully that win will boost them a good run through their postseason and good luck to them the remainder of their season. They are a very tough and scrappy team. As for the lady Camels they will be just fine and will learn from the loss and move on.
