  1. Why would you take a kid out once he made a tackle just to put in another one who the whole team has to run behind them just to try and fix what the kid they replaced just missed?

I can't argue with that, if kids were getting pulled out of the game for no reason and they were performing well then that does seem suspicious.
  2. I'm going to leave the 9 year comment alone. But that is very funny.

Obviously someone felt like he could do the job. My question would be how much freedom did he have with personnel decisions? If he was handcuffed, then is it really his fault? If he played favorites and didn't play the best player, then that's on him.

Really? leaving the 9 years alone? Not sure what that means but ok. And playing favorites? You must know the complaints because you are naming some of the problems most parent's have said . Nothing that has been done makes sense to me. I know a lot of parent's who are on here now and I myself have heard them say the same thing I am saying. They just aren't going to admit it on here and that is fine. I will be the bad guy I do not care. Nothing will change until the staff changes. If that makes me the bad person I'm sorry I'm really not a bad person but enough is enough on beating around the bush.

  3. Seems like an odd conversation to be having amongst players from different teams. How exactly did this come up? Regardless, it's a darn shame but glad they're having a good year.

Because these boy's wasn't just your normal boy's. They talked to our boy's. They was very open and polite.

  4. Pretty sure there are hundreds of seniors walking out of a first round playoff game across the state. It happens every year. This year for the first time in a long time, Highlands players felt that pain. Sucks, yes. But they'll be fine and have a lot of memories and lessons learned.

What problems I see won't be solved on a message board.

Seems funny that when you first joined(not that long ago) you knew nothing and now all of a sudden you know what was wrong and why things didn't go well. Maybe you should apply for any open position that may come this year.

My son has played for Highlands football 9 years. Yes I do not know the ends and out's of football and never have claimed to, However we as parent's rather they want to admit it on a public forum or not would agree this is a huge problem. I myself do not sugar coat anything never have and never will. I'm not saying he is a bad coach but he isn't the one to be doing the Defense.

  5. What are you saying? Behymer can't coach? If that were the case don't you think the head coach would have made a change?

One would think huh. Maybe this is the year that it does change. I can say there is thirty something seniors walking out of a first-round playoff game. YOU don't see a problem here?

  6. I think the Dragons would really appreciate that! I'm not sure many caught it, but coachhawk alluded to why the fan support is low when he mentioned he has kids on his team who wonder where their next meal is coming from. These boys deserve support, and their family situations, either by choice or circumstance, don't allow for a lot of fans to go to home games, let alone travel. What you're proposing is so special. I hope some take you up on it.

I know what he said. My son also had the pleasure of talking to these boy's and they was upset that their parents couldn't or wouldn't come for whatever reason. IT pulls at your heart strings for sure.

  7. I'm new to BGP and I just got to say, you all are WACK! As a parent of a graduating senior who played on this years HHS team, I have to say, I couldn't be prouder. This team left it all our there every game. In the big scheme of things, these guys have grown into outstanding young men. Isn't that the point of it all? It really kinda seems like these threads are more about yourselves, and not so much about a schools program. FYI it's not 1985 any more. I really think there are more kids than you would think, that could care less about Cov Cath. That rivalry is more in the adults than the kids for sure. Let it go ya'll. Your days are over. Grow up for craps sake! Not so sure I'll be renewing my membership!

P.S. Maybe people wouldn't hate us so much if adults didn't do things like drive to playoff games in decked out RV's with roof decks. Remain next to the gate, not even coming in. Party with pals only to fire up the RV in the 3rd quarter and take off. Talk about snobby and elitist looking!

Oh my lord I can't believe you just said that. WHY does it matter how people travel or who they are or THINK THEY ARE? ATLEAST they showed up. Kid's these day's need support from everyone not just their parent's. Yes I do agree the rivalry is more with the parent's than the boy's but the boy's still enjoy it. These boy's need to be lifted up. Not see all the disappointed post because they lost. The election is coming up. TOMORROW we will pick a new president. I ask all Ft. Thomas residents how many more years can we take with the same coach on Defense? And I'm not talking about Dill, Hall or Turner. They are awesome coaches but maybe one of them 3 need to give Behymer a break. JUST SAYING

  8. This is a tough one for me. I'm stuck between rooting for the local guys and jumping on the "feel good" bandwagon! I love the underdog stories, but I don't like turning on our local guys!! What to do! what to do???

I'm just not gonna vote! Take that!

The underdog deserves this one. Did you make it to the game Friday? IF so you know why we have to cheer them on. MUCH rather lose to Doss rather than Cov Cath come on lol

  9. Doss had many more fans in attendance than what could be seen sitting in the stands. Many of the fans were ringing the fence, watching from there. They had decent fan support and the stands would have been more full if these fans had chosen to sit. Not every football community is Ft. Thomas/Highlands. It is unfortunate that the KHSAA requires an extra couple of bucks for tickets for the playoff games. That is a limiting factor for some. Does one choose to spend $25 for the family to attend a football game or for something the family needs?

That may be true however we can only say what we seen and that's enough for us to go and cheer these boy's on. IF money was a issue on such a huge night then they sure aren't going to travel 2 hours away, plus pay the cost to get in right? You can never have to many fan's and support.

  10. I don't doubt a few players will go. I'm saying most will not and I get that those that do will do so just to watch football.

This has nothing to do with Cov Cath. This has to do with this team being very good and having little to know support that we as parent's and player's seen. How would that not touch a person's heart? I honestly wish both team's the best of luck. But I hope Doss wins for selfish reasons, nothing to do with Cov Cath. There will be more Highlands fans than you think.

  11. It would be nice if all the seniors went to support the Doss team in this Friday's game against Cov Cath. I have not talked to one player who hasn't said they are the best team they have played and was the most polite young men . They deserve our support. So to all the Highlands parent's yes we lost but we can now support a great group of young men. LET'S SHOW MORE CLASS.
