Any time you lose 4 seniors who have moved on to play college ball you have some big shoes to fill. I can tell you being involved in that program for the last 4 years the girls are excited for this chance and upcoming season to continue the winning ways. Coach Coffey and his staff will do a great job getting the girls prepared mentally and physically for the upcoming season. The expectations are the same every year, and the girls buy into it and love the challenge.
Even though I am no longer apart of that program I will be watching and rooting for them (unless they are playing Boone Co of course).
It would be great to see a Boone Co vs Highlands Final. Hoping that I can hold a regional trophy with my daughter just like Coach Coffey has had the privilege of doing twice with this two daughters.
I have to throw in two girls from the NKY Stealers who will be Frosh this coming year.
Star Smith- Boone Co, had a great summer started 2b last year for Boone.
Addisyn Michael- Walton Verona, started at 3b for them and also had a great summer
Agree with Coach Coffey as well on Rust. She will have a big impact this year
The best part of that post is I have played with and against many of the guys in the black unis. RCC9 might even know the pitcher that started that whole brawl. The original Dancing Bear from Columbus
That I do sir. Olivia Henry and Corin Crawford both. I actually had the opportunity to coach Lindsey, Byrns, and Skiles a couple of summer ago. The Stealers organization gives me a chance to work with some of the girls from my old stomping ground
I wasn't the home run guy. I was that pesky hitter.
The only thing I ever bragged about was catching everything up the middle while pitching. As we say in the slow pitch world "Middle was closed"
I did get lucky and fall into a great squad. It should be a great summer
As for those Highlands peeps, nothing but love for them. They took a Conner boy and made him a Bird. Only complaint is for years all I heard was "cake eaters" and to this day I don't recall ever having cake in the dugout.
I had the luxury of coaching Sam one summer so very happy for "slap shot" on the MVP.
I am also anxious too for this summer as I get to work with McGinn and Fields both
