  1. Transfers have been a part of Ky HS basketball for decades...Pulaski Co won the State Championship in 1986 with two Hanson brothers from NC and Barry Stringer, who lived in Casey Co and was a vital starter on that team....seems like this has recently became a hot topic sine Mercer got a couple. Not much different than the private schools do EVERY year...anybody else agree?

  2. Nice info 6th Region guy! It just goes to show you how difficult it is to find a good coach and keep them. The expectations are higher than ever before for coaches on the court and in the classroom. We expect HS coaches to coach like they are college coaches, but pay them a part-time salary. It is a shame how our schools, parents, and communities treat HS coaches.

What is the highest salary of Ky HS coaches that you know? Feel free to mention the schools if u like...what about the lowest??

  3. Mercer Co has 4 guys that have all dominated some games this season. Will Hager is a 6-4 200 lb pt guard that takes it to the rim like a man.Trevon Faulkner 6-4 Soph guard that shoots the three well and slashes to the basket with extreme athleticism, will not hesitate to dunk in traffic which is always exciting. Dylan James 6-4 Jr is a dynamic 3 pt shooter who also has a soft touch inside. And then there is Malik Dow 6-5 Sr who has shown flashes of athletic dominance the past two years...can be a physically imposing presence....that's my take on your question. Hopefully they can all 4 play lights out Weds nite

  4. No chance? Is this a serious post? Have you even seen Mercer play or did you just look at the Lafayette score? A team that has lost one game all year has no chance against a mighty 11th region team? Hilarious. I remember the mighty 11th region team choking in Rupp last year. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens again. Will Hager is way better than the Lewis kid and he's way stronger than him too. He'll toss Lewis around all night. Dylan is going to hit at least 3 threes and if he gets going watch out. Trevon and Taveion is a wash. They'll both get theirs. I can't wait to come back in here if Mercer wins to see what you have to say then. Mercer can win this game.

    LIKE. Well said

  5. Dunbar is out of the 11th region which they have been battke tested. Lafayette(who did beat Mercer by 20) Henry Clay, LexCath and a fee more will give Mercer fits with their speed and athleticism. Tavioen Hollingsworth(Future Mr.Basketball candidate) Darious Williams(current Mr Basketball finalist) and the most improved player in the 11th Jordan (J-Lew) Lewis will lose relentless pressure and speed on and with the ball. Utility man Justin Kelley will play a BIG role in this one matching up with anyone on Mercer. Big man Dontell Brown who had been coking on of late will pose problems for them in the post. Superstars show up with the lights on. I believe this is Dunbar's year. They have 3 phenomenal players at key positions and understand what wimkimg is about. I credit Coach Chalk for equipping them with a brutal s geduke outside the 11th to prepare his team for this one Dunbar by 20. Tavieon and Carious show up for this one on a BIG way. Player for player outside of Trevon Faulkner Mercer doesn't match up well with.

What time does Lafayette play?? Oh that's right...they don't!!

  6. But I'm still worried what will happen when Mercer plays an

Seriously, that played into their hands very well today. Initially, they were in a 2-3 zone, but their (athletic) guards gradually started pressuring the Mercer guards. They also had an athletic, 6'10" rim protector camped in the lane.

I've said it before and I will say it again. Athletic teams generally play a style that ultimately benefits Mercer. Those aren't the type of teams that concern me the most.

Cordia is very athletic, plus Trevon Faulkner played with a noticeably limp after hurting his back again but toughed it out as always....if Mercer makes their easy shots they win by 25plus

  7. Do ur research @Gunslinger on the 30 pieces 2 games Canton(OH) McKinley(two schools combined into 1 school very good undefeated athletic team) and then the true #1 team in the state Dunbar (oh did I mention 11th region) that was the Lebron James Classic where they went 1-1 beating undefeated Brunswick,Oh. Do ur research its all about getting ur team prepared. Beat by 20+ at LCA after they posted double digit wins over them twice do ur reasearch. Good facts but there are those facts the 11th is a beast. If you don't know you better ask somebody

Dunbar, Henry Clay, Scott Co are "beasts"....lafayette is FAR from being a beast...VERY VERY far...like the distance between Earth and the sun far

  8. Yeah, we played them without Stearns the next afternoon after the 110 - 106 game with Southwestern. No way they should beat Mercer Wayne or Southwestern. Believe if they get out of the 11th, either of these 3 teams that should win the 12th would win the next contest with Lafayette.

Agree with you..i guess LafYette would be 4th best team in 12th region...doubt they could beat Boyle at Boyle so maybe 5th best team

  9. In coaching you have to have thick skin, the coach kept glaring in the stands, in doing that you're going to get a reaction.

The fan who made the initial comment had already walked out of the gym so therefore the rest of the fans really didn't understand why Coach Adams kept staring. Then things went downhill, once the coach left the clock keeper made things worse and then went on to yell at a female parent which made things that much worse on the SW side. Hope to see you all again in Region. I'm probably replying to

The clock keeper as we speak, we were told to go back to Somerset which is where we were going. Don't let a few fans portray the whole fan base. Hope you guys make region. Should be fun on a neutral site.

Good explanation Blue and Orange.. Now it makes a little more sense...too bad things like that happen but HS sports is competitve and its hard to just flip that switch to "off" as soon as the game is over

  10. Adams has to be better than that. No response is best. I'm sure he's not the first coach to ever have a derogatory comment fired his way........it comes with the territory. And if you are a really good coach then you will hear more of it, take it as a compliment. If you react/respond then you are a Pitino leaving Rupp.

Disagree with that. Fans should never yell at another teams players or coaches...especially after a game.
