What is an SS team??
-
The HS floor is 84 ft.....college is 94 ft
-
It is incorrect that it is harder or will cause more controversy. MOST states for HS athletics AND all college AND all professional seed... because it's fairer, bottom line. Ohio seeds AND has divisions and it's a far better draw for crowds and creates better games. This is just one of those backward, stubborn things that when others from outside ky look in at Kentucky it verifies the stereotypes they've heard about the state.
That's about the most uneducated statement ever made on here. Do you really think that other states look at Ky and form a stereotype of any sort based upon how we format our State Tourney?? Ridiculous....yeah ...move to Ohio, sounds like you'd fit in well up ther.

Is the 3 pt line at Rupp going to be HS distance or college? How much difference will it make?
-
How tall/big are the starters for each team? grades?
-
Mercer County has no chance. Period. Comparing common opponents is useless. Dunbar is too quick and they have at least the best if not the two best players on the floor. Mercer County's soft schedule will come back to bite them and Dunbar is just better.
I think you and Bengal1 been drinking out of the same cup.

Tony Gray.....12th

[QU.
OTE=Muwv;5891780]Mercer has a chance no doubt but Dunbar much more athletic . Watch for 3 point shooters who lack high level athleticism and quickness to struggle on big floor and different backdrop. Like Dunbar in this one, they r battle tested.
Mercer not athletic? Have you seen them play? I have seen as many as 8 guys dunking in layup lines before game. Also have a minimum of 4 that will play college basketball...they are very athletic in my opinion.

It was announced at the 12th Region Finals that Kyle Bottoms was the Region ref of the year... Does that mean he's in??
-
Anyone have any recommendations of which hotels are the best to stay at for this weeks sweet 16 in lexington? The Hyatt and Hilton im sure are great but booked
Try some in Nicholasville...20 minutes away(Jessamine Co)

He didn't even make the All State team last year. He is a good player but Mr. Baseball is a reach. Everyone that will be in major consideration for this award in the preseason will have already signed with a D1 school.
Probably because he is a three sport athlete and doesn't do the showcases I would assume
-
Watched Josiah since he was 8....awesome kid too
-
Josiah Robbins-Boyle County
Like PP knows his stuff boys
-
West Jess , Southwestern, Mercer Co are likely to be in the mix
-
Anyone know who the officials selected are and what Region they represent.
-
Possibly do an All 2A,3A,4A,5A,6A the same way as an All A at that same time...but never change the Sweet 16 at the end of the season
-
This is why they need divisions in Kentucky basketball. At least 2 divisions to give some of the smaller schools the opportunity to experience the sweet 16.
Nah...disagree...as it is it's the greatest show in HS basketball...David vs Goliath has always been a tremendous story...hope it never changes
-
I too think Mercer must limit transition buckets and attempt to keep those guys out of the lane. I think the other key for Mercer is keeping Dunbar off the offensive glass.
I will say it will be equally as difficult for Dunbar to keep Mercer's 2 slashers out of the lane. They get there and finish very well. It doesn't appear to me that Dunbar has an eraser in there - like an Elkins of Boyle. Am I wrong on that?
I agree There's only one Colton Elkins in the state....and he don't play for Dunbar...Mercer was VERY successful in attacking the rim vs Elkins, I see no reason why they won't be vs PLD
-
Just read this crazy post... OldhamOldie can you please stop telling us about all your D1 expertise and who you know and all that stuff? I would say that Ben Weyers parents would know EXACTLY what happened. Do us all a favor and leave them alone. That wasn't even the thread topic!
-
How crazy would a Dunbar vs Buckhorn game be... 2300 vs 150... I bet Rupp crowd would eat that up
-
Was told that if a player on the floor does that during state tournament it will result in a Technical foul at the state tournament.
I think as long as the player is doing it in a celebratory manner with his team/fans that it s ok....if they are doing it in the face of opposing players then a T is warranted... I sure hope a referee doesn't change a game by displaying poor discretion
-
the funny thing is that no one bats an eye at arrow shooting. If it was gun shooting, they would all be labelled as thugs and gangsters.
