My guess is looking at the matchups, they must have gone with overall record as the tiebreaker

I think a HS coaches involvement depends on a few things. What age group is it? Who's running the league/program? Is that league/program designed as a direct pipeline into your program, or does it benefit multiple high schools?
High school coaches should be supportive of the program. Attending games when they can, talking to but not instructing the players after the game. Talking with and getting to know the parents. Administrative, offering guidance and help when needed.

How nuts would it be if they draw CCH and beat them again, and CCH doesn't make the regional?
Let's say Beechwood vs. Holmes and Holy Cross vs. CovCath. Beechwood and Holy Cross win.... When was the last time Holmes and CovCath didn't make the regional tournament?
-
I think Mason County, Campbell County and Paris are playing their best basketball right now and I think Mason County is the best out of that bunch. Brossart matches up well with each team and has enough to pull off a deep run in the region, but they need to take care of the ball a bit better. When it's all said and done, I think Mason will be the team on top.

Huge win for Beechwood, congrats to Goetz his boys on the win
This is Holy Cross's best shot a making the regional tournament. How nuts would it be if they draw CovCath to open up the district?

Free throws- high pressured, uncontested basketball shot that drives high school kids and coaches crazy. Outstanding effort by both teams, but you gotta take advantage at the free throw line
-
Gotta get the ball into Crawford
-
McClendon's getting to the rim, just can't get anything to go in. Weyer being dominant like usual
-
A lot of missed layups and short jumpers, especially by Holmes
-
Dixie's bench just got T'd up, wonder what was said. Chev didn't look upset
-
The Crazies haven't been that crazy tonight
-
Schrand has been playing lights out lately and with Bezold back, even if he's not 100%, I think Holy Cross will be too much
-
I like high school basketball the way it is, but the more and more I hear, read and see college coaches talk about it, the greater the chance of state associations possibly voting it in.
-
Good to hear Bezold got back into the swing of things. Leighton Schrand might be the most under-rated player in the region
-
Nice win for the Indians, any stats on this one?
-
Weyer was unstoppable, don't remember final stats but he had to be over 20 points.
-
I mentioned this on a different thread, i think Goodin is the best player in the state, but Williams has been the most valuable to his team.
However, Taylor County is getting better and I think if they win their region then Goodin will get it

Carson Williams
8th region poy
mr. basketball finalist
most interesting man in the world?

Are you being serious? Weyer, Mcclendon. They are the best two players in the region regardless of class.
I'm being serious, i agree that Weyer is the front runner for POY, but I don't think he's running away with it just yet. Even though VonHandorff isn't having a dominant season, it's a pretty good one on who i think is the best team in the region right now.

Jackson Crawford at Brossart is having a fantastic season and should be considered.
-
Any consideration for CVH at CovCath?
-
How does is year's Brossart team look going into the All "a" Classic this up coming weekend? Should they be favorited to win it all again this year like every year in the past?
If Brossart plays the tournament the same way they played Holy Cross, then they'll make it to Frankfort. 10th Region will be very competitive
-
I think Beechwood will always there district. I think the next few years from round 2 on could be competitive for the next few years.
Agreed, especially with Lou. Holy Cross and KCD in the other district with Frankfort.
-
I know that a number of the Beechwood household names are moving on (Slusher, Fieger, Stringer, Way)...but I'd be shocked if a program like this one isn't a top 10 team again next year. The NKY crew ought to have more insight here.
Beechwood loses some key players, and compared to last year's team it will be a bit of a step back, but they are still the top team in their district and give it a few games before they get a groove that will carry them into the playoffs

Great season and a heck of a career. I think he's the most underrated player in the region
