  1. Without the starting Qb and starting TB, I would think that HC would win this game by more than 26.

A lot of passing and trying different plays for the holy cross offense. they just need to give the big guys the ball. But still I think it was a good win because IMO you are happy when you shut any team out. But yes they should of won by More.

  2. This is one of those games that you just don't know till they match up on the field. You would think New Cath's strong schedule will pay off in this one but they don't have a quality win yet. Neither does Holy Cross. Both teams have been competitive in the tough games on their schedules but both teams fell short of getting wins.

Looking at the matchups, it feels a little like the Beechwood game - NCC passing the ball vs. Holy Cross defense - except New Cath has a more balanced offense. Beechwood shredded the Holy Cross secondary and that is what got them the win. Will New Cath turn Henschen and the passing game loose to see if Holy Cross learned anything from their Beechwood loss?

On the other side, will the Holy Cross coaches look at their offense and realize who they are? Forget throwing the ball. Holy Cross should do what Dixie did a couple years ago, which got Dixie to the 6A finals. Line up and run the ball every play. Let the big backs go to work. Sorry Jaylin Williams, but if Holy Cross throws more than 5 passes in the game it is a big mistake IMO.

    I agree!

  3. This is how I think it shakes out by the end of the season and you could make an argument for either on the ties as of today. NCC will beat Beechwood this year. Highlands losing to Campbell County is a really bad loss by them. Highlands hasn't come to play on the road.

    1. Ryle

    2. SK

    3. Highlands/Cooper tie

    5. Covcath

    6. Conner

    7. Campbell Co

    8. Newport Catholic

    9. Beechwood

    10. Holy Cross/Lloyd

Who's at 10? Holy cross or lloyd? I think holy cross

  4. All of the teams in NKY have made it to the halfway mark of the season...so here's how I would say things stand in the region, top to bottom:

    1) Ryle

    2) Simon Kenton

    3) Cooper

    4) Covington Catholic

    5) Conner

    6) Campbell County

    7) Highlands

    8) Beechwood

    9) Newport Catholic

    10) Holy Cross

    11) Dixie Heights

    12) Lloyd Memorial

    13) Boone County

    14) Walton-Verona

    15) Holmes

    16) Gallatin County

    17) Ludlow

    18) Grant County

    19) Scott

    20) Bracken County

    21) Bishop Brossart

    22) Carroll County

    23) Owen County

    24) Pendleton County

    25) Dayton

    26) Bellevue

    27) Newport

I think Scott should be at 14. And everything else looks pretty good

  5. if you realy want to know I have nothing against holy cross and if I get a chance in person I would encourage all high school kids like all adults should.Players from my son's team went to a holy cross game on a Saturday this season and a dad of one of holy cross best players told them they where garbage not just one kid said this several did and if you know the holy cross parents you probably could guess who this is .Of course I hope our team beats holy cross but otherwise I wish the young men the best just have a bad impression of the parents.

One parent doesn't define a team and doesn't give you a reason to always talk bad about holy cross because honestly you are being just as bad as the holy cross parent.
