  1. When I was teaching at Paris Middle School the 5th and 6th grade teachers took turns doing a newsletter for all the students to take home to their parents to keep them informed of the goings ons of the school. It was my turn to do the newsletter the week of Thanksgiving. So, I started the newsletter out at the very top in bold letter THANKSGIVEN. Three time state champion Coach Randy Reese was our head teacher. He was kind enough to point it out to everyone at our faculty meeting. Lol. He reminded me of my error several times afterwards. He got a kick out of it.

  2. A few years ago I was taking an online class to finish up my masters. My girlfriend and I had gotten into a verbal fight one night. The next morning I was feeling a little guilty yet was still mad. So, I decided to send her an email expressing my love and somewhat threatening her. Lol The only problem was I sent it to my professor by accident. I didn't realize this until my professor sent it back to me stating that she didn't think the email was intended for her. It was a bit humiliating considering the contents of the email.

  3. My girlfriend and I were on vacation in the Smokies a few years ago. We ordered take out from Almo Steakhouse and took it back to the cabin. I ordered a T bone that had to be close to 2 inches thick. When I cut into it, it had some pink in the center. Without taking a bite, I said to heck with this and put it in the refrigerator and proceeded to make myself a bologna sandwich, grabbed a couple extra pieces of light bread, can of vienna, bag of chips, and a Pepsi. I eat cheap and enjoy it.

  4. Same with Vienna Sausage. Don't dare read the ingredients. Just grab a few crackers and enjoy. Cans of this product are popular at our golf course clubhouse.

I love that stuff. Back when I drove a rock truck for a living, I ate vienna and crackers for lunch almost everyday. Then, it was usually a couple bologna sandwiches, plain chips and Pepsi or Mt Dew for supper. I've not had either in a really long time.

  5. Georgetown went on the road and lost to number 4 ranked Faulkner by 44. Did anybody attend the game or have any details? What is going on in Georgetown? They are off to an 0-4 start for the first time in who knows how long. I know they have played some tough teams but Georgetown was a NAIA powerhouse. I'm a big Tiger fan. Is it time to panic?

  6. I've never really been into fiction, but about three or four months ago I decided that I would like to read all 100+ books of Easton Press' 100 Greatest Books Series. I've read Moby Dick, Great Expectations, The Time Machine, Huckaberry Finn, Pride and Prejudice, and Gulivers Travels so far. I got another edition in last week but haven't had time to open it to see what it is yet.

  7. 1-2

2-1 wouldn't surprise me with an upset... But I see no way they go 3-0

You make me laugh and I say that with respect. You remind me of Lou Holts when he coached Notre Dame. I always felt sorry for the poor Irish going into every game. You're constantly, year in and year out, down playing Belfry' s chances no matter who they play. You maybe right this year, but if Belfry was playing Jenkins, you'd be telling us how the Big Green Machine was going to throttle poor Belfry.

  8. If you ask me..Horton was held prob 80 percent of the time. I actually witnessed the first coach through the line for NCC not shake Haywoods hand after the game. I realize the frustration but you won't meet s classier individual than Haywood. .I was shocked to see that.

I wasn't there and know nothing about what went on, but it is true. A few bad apples will spoil the whole barrel. A few bad fans can ruin an entire road trip and experience at another school especially when the road trip is a long one such as this. As far as Coach Haywood, he really is as classy as you will find. My only two encounters with Coach Haywood in person came on two blow outs by Belfry, and I still came away with a huge amount of respect for the man. He is pure class all the way.
