  1. Pikeville has been this way as long as I can remember. From the time they were grass & now turf, they have always moved the visitor bleachers after the season for the baseball team to use the field.

The Pikeville Cubs minor league baseball team played there (watched Greg Maddux way back there as a kid in 1984.

Not to get off topic but I watched the Cubs and Brewers there. I didn't get to see Jose Rijo when he pitched there. I still have a couple program from both teams and an autographed baseball from the Brewers with Chris Bosio' s signature on it who is now the pitching coach for the Chicago Cubs if I'm not mistaking. They no longer put the visiting bleachers up during football season.

  2. My junior year in high school, I threw the shot put for track. Our coach knew nothing about it, gave me a shot put, and that is the most he ever worked with me. So, to keep from being bored out of my mind, I would throw some then walk a trail through the hills to the top of the hill behind our school and/or jump rope. I was actually pretty good at jumping rope. It did tend to bother my knees when I did it a lot but I weighed 285. I haven't tried it since.
