  1. Thanks for the triple correction. Did I get the part right that he might be best in state? Only saw him bat left, GC fan next to me told me the other stuff. Golly, it would be great to hear more from you Musketeers about your awesome team. I thought membership on BGP made bragging rights a requisite.

haha anytime. Personally, yes i agree that Hughes is one of the best in state. He has power from both sides of the plate as he has Hr's from both sides. He is a true switch hitter as he hits lefty vs righties and vice versa. Slick fielder as well. Bright future ahead. I also believe that GC has the best up the middle combination in the state. Combination of Shoupe, Hughes, Gammon, & Hunt is something every high school baseball fan needs to see. That being said I'm not taking anything away from the corner infield and outfield as they are impressive as well. Tomorrow should be a good game, I'm hoping the musketeers can continue the story though.

  3. Kyle has been spectaucular all around so far this year. The combination of him and hughes up the middle is one of the best middle infields in the state for sure, willing to bet the best sophomore middle infield.

You could also include one of Gage's teammates, Kyle Gammon. He plays 2B & pitches some, was the closer last year as a Freshman but hasn't been used much this year as they haven't had as many close games. Kyle hits in the lead off spot and leads the team in hits, batting avg which is somewhere around .450, stolen bases, and fields his position well.
  4. The #14 you're talking about is Junior to be Chase Hunt. Chase does have a good arm and is also a baseball player like Jared Hunt was. Not sure on relation, but I do know they aren't brothers. Greenups key thing is going to be establishing an identity early on. Spring game is tonight, so that may give everyone somewhat of an outlook. Granted some players won't be on the field due to baseball. I'd also look at maybe Wright as a Qb depending what offense they're going with.

  5. Keeton started on the mound for greenup and struggled from the get go for the first time all season really. Downing come on to pitch in the lae 2nd if i remember correctly. Downing held russell in check for the most part but GC errors were still a problem. Not sure on the total number but i know walks in the first 2 innings and errors throughout the whole game hurt the musketeers. GC scored its first two runs on a combination of walks, errors, and passed balls. Russell pitcher had a no hitter deep into the game but greenup bats finally got it going with a greene single. shortly after Gage hughes hit a 3 run go ahead hr to give them the lead. wireman tacked on a rbi double to make it 8-4. Errors led to another run in the top of the 6th to make it 8-5 which became the final. GC looked nervous and tight from the get go. Russell kid, Layne pitched well until he got in the jam in the 5th. Gc found a way to win but didn't have their best performance by any means.
