Hard fought game on both sides. Congratulations to Barren County. They wanted it and you could tell. Calls were average at best for both sides. One moment you would have bodies flying with no call and ten seconds later a touch foul - Par for the course for the entire 4th region tournament thus far. Wade Coomer is as good as advertised. Central appeared to attempt to face guard him as they did Lovan in the quarterfinal matchup against Franklin. However, the trojan role players made plays when they needed to and Coomer seemed to enjoy the many one on one opportunities all night long. Central led at the half, but couldn't find offensive rhythm in the second half. Barren switched to zone and Central didn't make the adjustment. They quit shooting and attempted to get the ball in the paint which played well into Barren's hands as Central repeatedly turned the ball over time after time. The score isn't truly indicative how Barren controlled the 4th. It could have easily been 10+. The region final should be a good game, if Barren can keep their legs. As far as the "end of the dynasty" comment - One could say that the "dynasty" ended with Riley. However, I doubt we will see the return of the 90's central teams anytime soon.

Sorry for the hijack, but if you truly believe this, you are mentally impaired. You state that SW is no longer the golden child and somehow imply that WC is? Mind you that the athletic upgrades have been in the works for a few years, but your rationale is simply biased. The situation that is currently at hand as far as district lines go is that of the district underestimating the impact that a new school in that portion of the county would do to enrollment of WC. I believe that the district made the best decision they could have in regards to the lines with the information they had at the time. Realignment is and always will be a moving target as enrollment and populations increase in various parts of the county. To state that realignment is occurring to help WC is partly true, but you are failing to realize the negative effects that not realigning would have on SW. The school can only hold so many students. People give the Goff's way too much credit when it comes to board decisions. Again, sorry for the hijack, looking forward to a good game Friday night in Richpond. II find it hard to believe that Shelby County will leave Warren County with a win.
