I'm sure some would like to know how the game went.

It was a physical game in which I believe NCC won that battle. St. Henry was getting frustrated. NCC for the most part controlled the game. St. Henry played hard and had a few chances to tie the game. Both of these teams will get better as the season goes on and will be in the mix in the 9th region.

I was told they said "Pick her up and get her off the field" that wasn't meant for the coach.

I have heard parents yell at coaches and ref's but that still doesn't make it right.

I guess being up 3-0 wasn't enough.

Well a couple HHS parents said it was directed at the player as well and it was heard by an NCC person who has no kid on the team that it was directed at the player.

I didn't witness it but just talk to several that were right there. Regardless you should yell down at the coach either, very sad but I'm sure nothing will be said because they hide a lot in that town.

Will Kelly be playing in this game I know he got hurt last week?

From my vantage point it was an unfortunate misunderstanding between a parent of an NCC player and some Highlands parents. The Highlands administration along with a few neutral parents defused the situation and cooler heads prevailed.

My understanding was it wasn't a misunderstanding. A couple HHS parents were saying get the girl off the field as she was on the ground hurt and an NCC parent confronted them to which they denied. Their were several people who witnessed it and even a couple HHS parents were embarrassed that things like that were said from their side.

Pretty sad and I should be addressed by administration.

Then where does it end?

If he lived in Northern Kentucky he would be eligible LOL.

State of Kentucky doesn't take this serious because they will not do their due diligence to make a fair ruling that's 95% of transfers get ruled eligible.

@CAP as an NCC fan I find this an interesting question you asked. Didn't Stoll leave due to time constraints and wasn't able to coach anymore? The fact you ask this makes me wonder if this wasn't the reason he left. Was he ran off for lack of a better term or had no interest in still coaching at NCC? I've heard thru the grapevine both of these reasons plus I know he coached aau ball this summer which I thought was odd.

I heard he isn't coaching an NCC because he was getting married and need a break. Stoll is still teaching at NCC. I had no idea he coached AAU this year are you sure he did?

A few observations of my own:

 

If you haven’t heard of Louisville Christian Academy, and presumably it’s best player, you probably should refrain from critical comments about the propriety of this or any other list, or any of the players or organizations. Ignorance is ignorance in this instance; it is difficult to win an argument using the “I’m ignorant, but you’re more ignorant” tact. I would stick with facts and positive opinions.

 

Second, your cherry picking of facts reflects your bias and agenda. #3 girl is going to wind up being the most highly recruited girl to ever come out of Kentucky. Concluding that that is the case because of who she plays AAU for is unfair to her and her family, and it’s unfair to the other girls and organizations represented. The biggest flaw in your reasoning with respect to the “HUGE” difference the organization makes is, if you remove #3 from the calculus, the dozens of other 2020s that play for that organization are not as highly ranked and do not hold those kinds of offers. For that matter, none of the seniors on the list hold those kinds of offers either. The aberration in this analysis is player #3, not the organization she plays for. Now having said that, the fact that she has been the featured talent in the organization has certainly helped her exposure, but your conclusion that she got all those offers because of who she plays AAU for doesn’t explain why the other girls in that organization (or boys, for that matter) don’t have the same kind of offers or rankings.

 

You spin your facts to suit your agenda, but I can do the same thing to suit my agenda. The only consistent theme among those top 3 players, all 2020s, is that they all played for the Kentucky Royals at some point. And given that the Kentucky Royals are 19-1 all time against your organization, it’s not surprising that there is a consistent, continuing and pervasive effort by that organization to recruit Kentucky Royal players to leave and join that organization. It has worked in the past, and a number of players have, in fact, left, including #3, but all the others that have left have not enjoyed the “HUGE” difference benefits you imply result from playing for that organization.

 

Finally, the Royals and #2 have accorded themselves well against many of the top 2020 teams and players in the country, and are absolutely on the high D1 radar. Choose to believe that or not, but the fact that your organization continues to recruit those players is well known and implicitly corroborates Bolus’s rankings, including that of #2.

 

I might suggest waiting until next summer, when all the 2020s are playing in the same tournaments, to assess the accuracy of Bolus’s rankings, or any others, and the relative merits of playing for one organization or another.

 

I don’t know how well read you are statistically, and I am not suggesting they are determinative of a player’s ability, necessarily, but #1 and #2 on Bolus’s list have the biggest stats on this list; perhaps that entered into his calculations. I do not know. All I know is that it was my position 5 years ago that one of the Kentucky Royals, including the top 3 on Bolus’s list, would be Ms. Basketball in 2020, and I still feel pretty good about that prediction.

The girls you speak of that have played for the Royals at some point how long did they play for them. It sounds to me your doing the same thing and saying its the organization they have played for. You seem to be giving the Royals a lot of credit and know their record which by the way records in AAU mean nothing.

Not taking anything away from the girls who are mentioned but there are some that are missing but then again they didn't attend his camp.

I know St Henry lost a lot of seniors last year that played, what do they have coming back besides their goalie?

Is George Stoll from NewCath being considered I wonder?

These rankings always makes me laugh.

Lickert likes to throw the ball A LOT.

Campbell got another transfer that 2 in 2 years. Scott also got a transfer, Newport's best player and her name escapes me. She is vey good and only a sophomore.

No personal fouls on NCC in the game. Two Unsportsmanlike Penalties however. And yes, that needs to be corrected.

Your correct my apologize, it was very disappointing.

CovCath is very good again and will only get better.

The most disappointing thing for me was NewCath and the personal fouls. If they are going to compete they better clean that up.

Everson was really good and his attempts are far more than anyone's for sure.

I wouldn't count NCC out.

Has any of the girls transferred because of the change?

Now that tryouts are over for Highlands the Varsity roster is set. They are carrying 4 seniors, multitude of Juniors, and 2 Sophs. They are returning 8-9 out of 11 starters but of course there could be some new starters this season. A couple of D1 commits in the squad with a few in the junior class being recruited at the D1 and D2 level. If this team can put it all together they should be able to make a run at State but will need to get out of a very tough 9th Region first.

I thought a few of the Highlands players were playing DA but I could have heard wrong.

I believe he will be the focal point of the offense if not they will have trouble winning big games. I am not taking anything away from those other players who will get carries but they are the caliber of Kyle. I could be wrong and if they are then they would be scary good. As for defense he will be on the field almost every play especially during playoff time.

I think he will rest him during the season but once playoff time comes around I doubt he comes off the field much.

I still don't believe Highlands will be able to compete with CovCath this year. CovCath has to much returning especially Michael Mayer.
