Congrats to the Breds on winning the tournament again. But given the margins in these games, I believe NewCath would be better served having played games against Holmes, CovCath, etc. to get ready for the real 9th region event. The All A did not exist when I was a student at Henry Clay in the mid 1970s and I still do not understand the rationale. Teams like NewCath can beat any teams regardless of classification, and the All A does them no good in the end. Yes it is a title, but playing better competition makes a team better by the end of the year. Can't wait to see NewCath, CovCath, Holmes in the 9th region tournament at the BOKC in a few weeks! The crowd for the finals last year was great and hopefully we will have the same turnout this year.
Congrats to NCC 3 in a row at any level is tough to do. Now they need to really focus with one goal out of the way the next one fast approaching.

Scott has a nice team and regardless how Highlands played the other night, Highlands wins by 10 even without Leigh.

THEY DON'T GET TIRED!!!!
Believe it or not they do get tired especially at the pace they play, each sport is different, they don't train the same is basketball as they do in basketball. Are you saying if a pitcher plays soccer he shouldn't get tired?
RCC9 you are correct in your assesment, having rest during a game obvioulsy helps you mentally and physically.

Missing players certainly impacts a teams chemistry no doubt! As I stated previously, NCC players make plays and their coaches do a tremendous job with their offensive sets to get players open to be successful. However, I'm not sure having the other three players would have helped much on the offensive end when your shooting something like 11 for 13/14 attempts???? from 3 point range. Very impressive shooting performance. I think SK's defense allowed the shots but NCC knocked them down. I'm not sure that's the exact number for 3's but its pretty close. Either way, what a shooting performance! I'm surprised SK was in the game with a team shooting that well, much less squeak out the victory.
It would have helped a little on offense but fresh legs down the stretch would have help with the ball handling, NCC looked a little tired because of the minutes that had to be played by players who could have gotten some rest. Taking nothing away from SK they made plays when they needed to down the stretch.

LAwildcat...I'm biting my tongue! I'm being very good!
Not taking anything away from Highlands football it speaks for itself, but if they played Trinity and Male every year they wouldn't have as many titles that's for sure. Not saying they woudn't win some but it would be lopsided scores. Again Highlnds is a great football program with tradition and history, but jsut saying.

Call it what you want.
It's a Class A school thing - You wouldn't understand.
Congrats to the Lady Indians well deserved.
Don't knock the A until you have experienced.

Why were they not on the bench? there was only one injured player on the bench.
2 of them in Alabama for a ODP soccer showcase and the other one in a Volleyball showcase.

NCC was missing 3 players in this one?
Yes they were missing 3, Martin starter, Freppon and Tolle, all contribute valuable minutes.

My thoughts are in the other thread on this game
Keep in mind NCC was missing 1 starter, their biggest girl who is a good rebounder and a key role player off the bench, still have to take care of the ball when you have the game in hand.

Ohhh...this was an All A game??? ...I didn't realize that! Well then who cares?
KIDDING!!! Just a joke! (I have to pretend I don't pay attention to it!) it would ruin my rep!
New to Bluegrasspreps so cut me a little slack early but I have followed it quite about over the past few years so I thought I would add my 2 cents every once in a while. Well here is one of them, keep in mind that last year I think and I could be wrong that 3 or 4 teams who played in the ALL A last year actually made it to the state tournament. So with that being said it can't be all that bad.

Holy Cross gets 11 of the 14 first place votes as they reclaim the #1 ranking in Northern Ky. after knocking off Holmes and Highlands last week.
Thoughts?
1. Holy Cross ( 11 ) 136
2. Highlands ( 2 ) 122
3. Holmes ( 1 ) 120
4. Simon Kenton 87
5. Scott 57
6. Boone Co 53
7. Newport Catholic 49
8. Ryle 43
9. Notre Dame 23
10. Dixie Heights 20
As I look at these ranking which doesn't really mean much to me but I am puzzled how both Boone and Scott are ranked over Newport Catholic. If I remember correctly Newport Catholic beat them both or am I missing something.

Beechwood begins a very tough next couple of weeks. Next 7 games are all against teams ranked in the top ten in the 9th.
Holmes kicks off the stretch - it will also include games against CovCath, NewCath, and Dixie.
I am new at this so bare with me, but I say Holmes by 15 plus.

Missing 3 players was the problem, again not taking anything away from SK.
