I was referring to years past! Its an Owensboro tradition.
An Owensboro tradition would be the following:
43 Regional Championships
4 State Championships 1917 1949 1972 1982
3 Mr. Basketballs
4 NBA players
Its an Owensboro tradition......

Brown, with all due respect the 3rd region is weak. Owensboro has countless times choked down the line when they play more fundamental and better coached teams. Yes they will have a size advantage. These two teams met back in the summer at Western Kentucky's team camp and Collins held their own. They didn't have the Aussie dagger and have improved greatly since then.
Countless times...lol..they lost 2 games since December.

I think there gonna try an get Murray St. Louisville an Kentucky all in same bracket
-
Wow..he seemed very laid back the games I seen this year...but he never hardly called any time outs that I do recall...shame if he let's teams stay on a roll without using his time outs
-
He got a tech in the game ur talking about?
-
Will be there for the first round games morning session..
-
Didn't see a thread on this game.... who wins and why.
-
If Holman doesn't get in foul trouble it will help..Morrow will be the deciding factor in my opinion...if he's on there tough to beat...Morrow had a 22 point first quarter in a tourney over here in Illinois..Four Seniors start so all those have State tournament experience. Something just tells me there gonna come out flat, an Collins will prevail

Game 1 in the seats..upper level ,side....close to the rail as I can get..wife ...three kids and if he feels like it my dad.. there is nothing like it for a basketball fan anywhere in America watching the greatest game ever invented in the greatest venue for basketball ever built
-
Because Mr. Cantrall said so.
And Doss beat Owensboro and they are ranked lower..lol..
-
Wish the tradition of Saturday morning and Saturday night championship was still the tradition. Not a fan of the finals now on Sunday.
That's true..hard on the families and fans to travel the long distances that many different days...the players probably like the rest though...it has to be hard on some of the older Family members because riding long distance is very tough on the body at that age...just a thought..wonder what the reasons were for changing the format player rest only or some other reason
-
Actually that would never work. They want the tournament in a Good City, not a depressing one.
Just to clear things up im not from Lville...lol..i meant moving it toward Rupp..lol.
-
NashVegas is awesome place to spend a few nights. Cats playing at Noon local time is best of both worlds for Cat fans!
Might have to hit the Pedal Bar
-
Need to move the SEC tourney back to the Louisville Gardens...lol. Keep easing it closer to home. :dancingpa

That was my problem with Owensboro but talent-wise Holman and Miller help them a ton.
I'm looking forward to seeing all of these teams next week. Especially Bowling Green.
Great point..I live in Evansville area but will be making the trip to Session 1..work schedule only allows me too see those 2 games, hope those are two good ones.. but id like to see Bowling Green also..and Knott Central
-
How many did Florida shoot?
They were 3 of 5..couldnt draw a foul..not fast enough
-
Im with ya on the LIT ratings being a lil lacking..lol..and Im not running dwon Collins and there great season. in face I do think that if they get hot, they could end up playing on Sunday...Its just OHS schedule vs Collins is not any worse or weaker thats for sure...I will be at this game, and expect it to be a Collins victory, just gotta disagree with the schedule vs schedule comments...hope theres a good crowd at this one.
-
Id drop Owesboro to 12 and Bowling Green to 13 .rest looks good..Owensboro just doesnt have the quality wins..no bad losses..Doss Trinity and Wayne Co., but just lack quality wins exect for Bowling Green
-
17 of the top 25 teams in the LIT... are home. Wins at Bullit East, Louisville Eastern (2 times), Louisville Male, Graves County, and John Hardin. Not so shabby!!
Bullit East 21-10
Graves Co. 19-12
Eastern 17-10
John Hardin 14-15
-
Now, go ahead and run down the records of the rest of their opponents.
They beat threst of there opponents............
-
With all due respect to Owensboro, their schedule leaves little to be desired. To their credit, they tried to beef it up and they did. Yet lost to all of those teams that they beefed it up with.
Owensboro lost 3 of there 4 games all to very very good teams..Trinity..Wayne Co., Doss a much tougher schedule, hands down.
Those 3 Losses:
Doss 26-6
Trinity 24-6 who lost to #1 team in US by 10
Wayne Co. 23-6
As far as losing to all the teams they beefed it up with, not sure a 17 game win streak then a loss to Lou. Trinity is to shabby

I disagree! Collins will and can push the ball very well. They are athletic just gonna be undersized. Owensboro will not put a trio of guards on the floor to match Collins. If Collins has a decent shooting night watch out.
Actually Owensboro runs 4 gaurds often... Sanford ,Morrow ,Phillips and Harris they can and will hold there own..but there not the Red Devils strong point' that's the bigs inside...
