If Lyon County wins, they would be the first non-football playing school to win the title since University Heights in 1992. They would be the first public non-football school since Earlington in 1967. I don’t think Earlington had football but I may be wrong.

I totally agree with this. I’m also a Dallas Cowboys fan and this is how I feel about them, too. I just expect them to underachieve and I’m more likely to just laugh and shake my head when they lose in the postseason instead of being mad like I used to be. I have no expectations of success anymore for UK basketball. 

Goehlke will shoot 2-20 in the next game probably.

Does anybody know if the KHSAA has considered or is considering using the RPI to seed State or Regional tournaments in the future? I’m wondering because the Franklin-Simpson/Bowling Green 4th Region semifinal game tonight should have been a championship game in my opinion. If they are going to do it for football, they might as well do it for other sports. I’m sure there are others who would prefer to keep the blind draws for the brackets. 

FS finishes at 30-2 with most of their players coming back on this junior loaded team. 

BG pulls the upset and will likely win another Region 4 title. Brilliant coaching by BGs Calvin Head as the Lady Purples played an airtight zone to try to smother Lady Cat MVP LaReesha Cawthorn and dared FS to shoot threes. FS complied and was 2-18 at one point behind the arc. BG drove inside against the FS man defense and scored layup after layup. BG led by 5 at the half and went 7-7 with 3 triples in the third to go up by 19. FS got within 5 in the 4th quarter after some improved defense and shooting but it was too little too late. NaTaya Wardlow is the BG point guard, she was the shortest player on the floor but has a huge game. 

Lady Purples hold off a late rally by the Lady Lakers to advance to the semifinals against Franklin-Simpson on Thursday night. 

Lady Cats improve to 30-1 and will face either Bowling Green or Russell County on Thursday. 

FS Lady Cats stand at 29-1 entering the 4th Region Tournament. 

FS closes out the regular season with the best record in the state at 27-1. Game was tied 18-18 at the half. 

If the Niners have a slow start like the last two weeks, they will be in trouble. The Packers had a young and inexperienced team and the Lions had a young and inexperienced coach who couldn’t respond when SF came back. The Chiefs won’t have those same problems if they are in that situation. If the Niners come out hot and dominate early as they did much of the season, I think they will be too much for KC. I think SF’s best is better than KC’s best this year. I think KC has the best player but SF has the better team. 

Then he calls a play designed for Deebo when Deebo is out of the game. 

Shanahan coaching not to lose instead of coaching to win. Wastes the last 4 minutes of the first half when SF had plenty of time to score.

Lady Cats move to 16-0 and advance to the finals against Boyd County tomorrow at 12:00. 

CAL had won all 4 previous 2A tournaments. FS Lady Cats advance to the semifinals against Taylor County this afternoon. 

If they gave FSU 10 points for every time they cross the 50 it might be a close game.

Luke Richardson was a freshman when he started at QB for FS in 2018 when they won the 4A title. I believe Riley Preece was a freshman starting at QB for Johnson Central when they beat FS in 2016 also for the 4A title. Neither one of them threw it much at all with both teams being very run-heavy but still a good accomplishment. 

Godzilla has many many sequels. 

I'd be interested in seeing an update of this list now. I imagine Boyle County is just tightening its grasp on the top spot. Simpson County should be higher now with 2 state titles and 3 regional finals in the three years after this list came out. 

Love the sportsmanship in the final minute.  Love high school football.
